Description
Redcat monte carlo 1979 lowrider hopping/dancing car this is a budget build believe it or not I tried to spend as little money as I could and still get this car to perform like it's older brother the LRH285 impala chassis!! 3 main upgrades to get your monte to hop!!
Step one was to to get the car to hop on 3s I used the stock esc a while on 3s with an adapter but I desired more so I opted out for a HobbyWing1080g2!! Wich was fairly inexpensive. The reason for the 1080g2 was the internal bec could handle 8.4v Wich is mad for a brushed esc, And actually performs one of the stock servos upfront gave out and it was within my first week of owning the car so redcat sent me 2 hexfly hv servos Wich were 50 bucks for 2 completely free of charge was awesome!! Hats off to redcats customer service!!! I had to mention that but we opted out those for the power hobbys 209mg hv servos Wich are power houses for there price 50$ for the price of one you can't beat that. The next thing on the to do list was jevries metal servo horns front and rear the horns up front broke instantly!!. The factory plastic horns in the rear will last a bit longer but definitely the next thing to be changed out. With those items installed and acquired I decided to add some bling to my car starting with some chrome a arms up front and chrome trunk lid I did purchase the steering rack aswell but I got the wrong one for the Impala! Next was the light kit was really nice seeing the car lit up! The factory rear shocks broke so I'm running redcat lightning drift car shocks! Beefier shock bore!! I also replaced the trans gears on this platform would be great for creating replica drag cars super realistic chassis layout! Someone make metal gears for this transmission please!!!
I purchased a purple 🟣 monte and I liked it as it was but I wanted somethin more original and that I touched so went ahead and purchased a clear body and went to town with a blue car with a white top!!! I also stripped the chassis down and painted the pan and other main components that were on the undercarriage of the car I also had found the chain from a piece of clothing and it was just what I was looking for finishing touches I hope you guys enjoyed my project!!
90$- 2 209mgs 20$-hobbywing'g2 60$-jevries metal horns shocks-free 98$-clear body 90$ on paint!!! I had the gold and white laying around but I did have run out and grab some more!!
Also I purchased this car on black Friday 2023 it was 290$!!!!
