Description

This is Richard Geertsons Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat done in a pre-war color scheme found on the USS Wasp.

The plane was built from Jerry Bates plans and features fully enclosed controls, a detailed cockpit (Dynamic Balsa kit), remote sliding canopy and modified Robart retracts.

Both the retracts and the sliding canopy are powered by Actuonix linear actuators.

Engine is a Saito FG-90R with a custom Keleo collector with scale exhaust outlets. The engine also has a CH Ignitions prop/timing hub.

Wingspan is 92" and weight is 35 pounds.
 
The aircraft is finished with DupliColor rattle can primers and paints. Vinyl markings from Callie Graphics.
 
He uses Hitec digital servos almost exclusively in all his RC projects and fly with a Futaba 18SZ radio.
The aircraft also utilize Smart Fly power distribution units and opto-kills and Spektrum LiFe batteries.
