About this part

The 175RC Ceramic "TrueSpin" Transmission Bearing Kit contains all the necessary bearings required for most 3 gear transmissions. These bearings feature removable rubber shields that allow simple and easy maintenance. The "TrueSpin" bearing kit is lighter in weight and much smoother then the factory bearings. Get faster lap times, longer run times and more overall performance out of your model.

NOTE: Oil lightly before use.

The bearing kit received came with metal dust covers on both sides; as opposed to having a rubber on one side. The 175RC P/N 16001 is correct. So, I will be returning them. Certainly not AMain's fault that 175RC packaged them up differently from what is stated in the description.

The picture shows serviceable bearings but they are sealed

Lasted 1 practice run and 3/4 of one qualifying heat. One of the bearings came apart causing the pinion shft to loose gear mesh and strip out the idler gear. I wouldn't recommend.

The set I received are also metal shield on both sides versus what is pictured (rubber / metal hybrid), but I knew that was a chance based on the reviews and I'm okay with it for my application (indoor carpet). They lasted 7 runs tonight without issue and still spin nice and free. Will update if I have any issues in the future.

What reviewers say

Reviewers report mixed experiences with this bearing kit. Several received bearings with metal shields on both sides rather than the rubber or hybrid seals shown in the listing, and one reviewer noted the pictured bearings appeared serviceable while the supplied ones were sealed. One reviewer returned the kit over the seal mismatch. Another reported a bearing failure after one practice run and part of a qualifying heat, which stripped an idler gear. Two reviewers reported good performance, one after seven indoor carpet runs, and praised the seller's support. Reviews are few and split, and the seal discrepancy is the most consistent concern.

  • + Smooth, free spinning after use
  • + Good performance on indoor carpet
  • + Responsive seller support
  • − Metal shields instead of pictured rubber or hybrid seals
  • − One bearing failed early and damaged gears
  • − Sealed bearings don't match listing photos
