While the other reviewers seemed to have trouble with this tubing, I havent experienced the same thing. Not sure if theirs were too tight or too loose but if too tight, perhaps the glue had encrusted on the tip of the bottle making it more difficult. I've had them fit fairly loose before but that didnt impact the function.

People have different preferences when it comes to tire gluing. For me, a steel tip is OK until it accumulates a bit of dried glue, after which the tip does not slide well when in contact with rubber. A sticky tip slows down the gluing process a lot. For me, a plastic tip slides better for longer before I need to scrape the dried glue off. And of all the plastic tips, the AKA tubing works best because the small diameter fits most easily into the small gap between the rim and the tire bead, while not flexing too much because I cut it just long enough to reach where it needs to. If you think the tip is flexing too much, try cutting it a little shorter.

What reviewers say

Reviewers are split on fit. Several verified owners report the tubing does not stay seated in the AKA glue bottle, falls out, and is too loose, giving low ratings. Others say it fits and works well with AKA tire glue, and one notes the tubing is the same as that supplied with the glue. A few reviewers appear to report fine fit when the tubing is cut to length or the tip is kept clean. One reviewer describes preferring a plastic tip for tire gluing and finding this tubing effective because its small diameter fits the gap between rim and bead. The recurring issue is a loose fit in the bottle opening, mentioned by lower-rated reviews.

  • + Works well with AKA tire glue
  • + Small diameter suits the rim and bead gap
  • + Can be cut to length
  • − Falls out of AKA glue bottle
  • − Loose fit in bottle opening
  • − Makes a mess when it dislodges
  • − Tip can flex if too long
