The T-Rex 470L Electric Helicopter is a freshly designed new size for Align, featuring 380mm main blades which have become ever more popular within the helicopter community. Included within the kit is an excellent electronics package which will provide proven and reliable performance at an excellent price to performance ratio.
By moving to 380mm Main Blades, pilots will notice an improvement not only in performance for all aspects of flying, but additional stability due to large disk area in flight. Overall the larger helicopter will improve visibility over a standard 450 (325-360mm Main Blades) helicopter. By bumping up the power package to 6s 1800 and a matched 1800kV motor additional flight time can be added to the heli, or insane performance can be provided with higher headspeeds. The T-Rex 470L will be extremely versatile, and should be a staple in most pilots hangar. It can be flown in an average sized park for the sport flyer, or taken out to your local flying field to lay down excellent 3D performance.
The 470LP Model utilizes mostly plastic components, which aid in lowering the weight even more compared to the "M" model.

The 470LP is 100% the best value in a 450/380mm helicopter by far. For around $350 plus batteries, you have a 380 class heli that will suit seasoned pilots as well as those moving up from BnF CP helicopters. Pros -Killer combo savings -Cheap to crash -Parts are everywhere -Better than average hardware Cons (nitpicking) -ESC isn't fantastic but will get you going. Recommend a HW50 Platinum off the bat. -74mm tails should be included in the box instead of the 69mm -1800mah 6s packs aren't exacly cheap at $50+. You'll want the weight for balance so I wouldn't recommend going smaller to save cash. If you're deciding between the 470LM and LP, I would recommend picking up the LP and putting that money in a couple extra 1800 packs or upgrading the microbeast to pro for the rescue. Or even better, selling the microbeast and picking up a ikon2 flybarless system. I knocked off half a star each for the meh ESC and still packaging the old 69mm tails but I would buy this all over again in a heartbeat.
I recently purchased the trex 470lp Helicopter. I’ve flown it about 12 batteries where very impressed I normally fly a T. rex 500 aluminum carbon fiber but I wanted something to practice with that was cheap to fix. This helicopter is definitely a great helicopter the tail on mine is rocksolid I have everything that the kit came with in mine and I see no problems with anything. I did make a few adjustments in the perimeter menu but I’ve done nothing with the tale so far and my tail holds rocksolid the only time it doesn’t is once the battery starts to deplete then the tail doesn’t hold as perfect but that is expected as your power is going down. I Assume if you bought the plastic version the purpose of having it was to have a helicopter that is cheap to crash. Don’t upgrade it to metal parts just leave it the way it is there’s nothing wrong with it if you want to helicopter with metal parts just buy another helicopter. You also want to keep it belt driven because when you crash you don’t break. When you have a driveshaft you snap in a crash if the tail boom breaks you blow out all the gears and it cost about $50 in parts. If that happens with belt nothing usually happens at all except the tailboom breaks. And it is absolutely perfect for it because it does not fly like your typical Small helicopter just feels the same as my 500 for stability and is just as capable. The beastx control is one of the best Fly bar less units on the market I know other people like Others but I cannot find the reason why any are better than this thing has every type bail out rescue feature you could possibly want including teaching you you inverted flight and TickTock’s while having the artificial stabilizer turned on. And it’s also a six axis gyro which most are three makes it even more stable. . There are no other gyros out there that are this capable of all these functions the best part of it all is you do it right from your phone connection or you can do it right from Your radio. Once you understand The directions and everything is very easy to understand. And unlike other gyros the cost 3-400$ you can pick these up for about $100 on eBay I got mine for 115 and that included the pro version upgrade that is an excellent price for any Gyro especially this one. 470LP or 470LM are incredible! Easy to assemble & fly like a much larger helicopter. Great daily driver, crash repairs are much easier on the wallet too !
Love the combo but DITCH THE ALIGN ESC (IF it's not made by HobbyWing!)! I run the governor and their governor is JUNK. Dont talk to Gale Align of Enterprise Hobby either because he's WORTHLESS as far as tech support is concerned. All he talked about was the "big boys" Alan Szabo and others that didnt run the governor and neither should I! Otherwise, the motor, BeastX, servos etc work wonderful! The heli is REALLY powerful and is a blast to fly!
Cannot beat this kit for the price. The beastX alone is almost have the cost. I have 2 of these helis and they are great to use for practice; cheap parts that are available everywhere and tons of power on 6S. This plastic version is extremely light as well. Go with a 1800mah 6S for the perfect CG.
