It was not hard to replace. I stripped my original stoker by tightening my slipper clutch too much. Decided that if I had to replace this part and other composite gear parts that the cost of upgraded metal gears are not worth the cost. And there is also the possibility that if you do use metal gears that other remaining composite gears will be a weak point
