Replaced my stock V5 Kraton center diff with this after it started leaking, no problems so far and it looks great. Also replaced diff fluid with 200k

I picked this up at my local hobby shop. It fits great, and gets rid of the separate side pin retainers allowing for a much more solid unit, plus it helps dissipate heat and I noticed the diff maintaining a consistent feel for longer into my runs. I did have one issue, and one "oh well" when installing. The issue was a bad gasket that was ripped, and the "oh well" was that mine did not come with the etched Arrma logo, just a red case/ not a big deal, as it's mostly hidden in the cradle. All in all happy with it, a very close to 5-star

I have been running these front/center/rear for about 6 months now. they are a lot more noisy then the plastic ones, but I have had literally no problems since the change over. I have serviced my diffs about 3 times now, and these are all perfect still. not a necessary upgrade, but if you have the money it sure makes life easier.

This differential housing is very poor quality. During normal use, the inside walls wear down quickly because of the spider gear thrust washers. After only one month of use, nearly 1 mm of material had worn away. When I opened the differential, the oil was full of metal shavings. I bought two of these housings and spent almost $50, expecting a durable product. Instead, I received parts that wore out almost immediately and even damaged my thrust washers. I cannot recommend this product to anyone. I would like a full refund.

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally rate the red metal differential case highly, with most describing a good fit, solid build and long-term durability after several months of use, including one owner who serviced the diffs multiple times without issues. Reported downsides include increased noise compared with plastic cases, a torn gasket on one unit, and a missing etched Arrma logo. One verified owner reported severe wear on the housing walls from spider gear thrust washers after one month, with metal shavings in the oil, and requested a refund. Reviews are few, and the wear complaint conflicts with the otherwise positive reports.

  • + Good fit and solid build
  • + Durable over months of use
  • + Eliminates separate side pin retainers
  • + Looks good on the red finish
  • − Noisier than plastic cases
  • − Torn gasket on one unit
  • − Missing etched Arrma logo on one unit
  • − Reported housing wear and metal shavings in one review
