I got this because I like kits and building it myself. Building and wrenching is most of the fun for me. This is my first RC in about 10 years but I've been in the hobby a long time. This is also my first Arrma. I had a couple issues with the kit. The included 2mm hex driver isn't up to the task and I ended up striping a bunch of bulkhead/diff cover screws. The supplied 2mm hex driver basically rounded out before I could get the truck done. I have a MIP 2mm but just moved and couldn't find it, so I thought I'd just use the kit supplied hex driver. I had to dremel slots in the screws and was able to get them out with a flathead screwdriver. The nice thing is the kit comes with a small spare parts bag with a couple extra of each screw, a spare wheel nut, spare drive pin, etc, that was nice. I had several other screws that were on the verge of striping but were ok. My kit also included one incorrect length front universal so I got stopped at that step to wait for parts. Amain took care of that so I was happy with that. Another issue was the diffs seem to have a little bit of play even with the diff cover tightened down. It seems like the diff cover just doesn't clamp down on the bearings all the way. It's not extreme, but something I noticed. I just decided to go with it and so far the truck is running fine. It's pretty fun for what I wanted. It's brushed 2s so it's not extremely fast, but it's not slow either.
Nice Rig so much fun build you can check my YouTube channel , The Unboxing And Build https://youtube.com/shorts/SkO58UZkrxc?si=bW9YZc8F31sYuyDJ
This thing is great! I got kits for my nephew and I. We finished his car in two sessions with me helping and then I caught up by myself. The handling is SO GOOD! You can really whip the back end with a lil scandi flick!
Three verified owners rated this 1/16 4WD kit between 4 and 5 stars. Reviewers praise the build experience and the handling, with one describing it as fun to drive and easy to get through with help. One reviewer reported stripping several bulkhead and diff cover screws with the included 2mm hex driver, which rounded out during assembly, and had to remove screws with a rotary tool and flathead. The included spare screws were noted as helpful. One review contained only a video link with no product detail. The sample is small, so these observations are limited.
- + Fun build experience
- + Good handling
- + Enjoyable for kit builders
- − Included 2mm hex driver rounds out easily
- − Screws strip during assembly
