Electronics & Drivetrain
Features a fully enclosed all-metal geared drivetrain for maximum durability that carries power from the powerful MEGA 380 brushed motor and SLT 2-in-1 25A waterproof ESC and receiver to all four wheels, while the entire power system is well-protected for dependable performance that we came to expect from Arrma. Controlled with the easy to use Spektrum SLT2 2-channel transmitter that can help you learn throttle control skills safely by limiting the buggy’s maximum speed to 50% or 75% until you’re ready for the 100%!
Chassis & Suspension
To allow the Typhon Grom to excel on tracks as well, Arrma suited this small scale buggy with preload adjustable oil-filled coil-over shocks and four wheel independent suspension to boost handling, jumping and landing performance like a bigger 1/8 racing buggy! Sadly disappointed, hope it’s brushless ready. Hey at least it comes with a lipo ?. I understand entry level MEGA marketing, but why! Realistically should not be a significant cost difference at this level. The lackluster speed and power is simply painful in my opinion. My six year old thinks it’s too slow. Time to release a proper brushless beast! please there’s already a currently useless slow down switch on the controller for crying out loud ????? Complaints aside platform is very nice, the clip less system is sublime and I believe it has much unfulfilled potential.
Car is a great value and I consider this the sweet spot for the Arrma grom vehicles. Have all three groms and the Typhon "out of the box" has the best speed/handling. All are great fun to drive but the Typhon is most suited for fast lap times, taking jumps and power sliding, the best of the 3 cars. Mojave grom is the heaviest and also has the narrowest wheel track making it more prone to rollover than Granite or typhon grom. Granite grom is the stunt vehicle of the three and can do crazy, silly stuff (it LOVES to flip!!!) reason for 4 stars instead of five is the lousy diffs. Ive had a few diffs fail on 3rd or 4th battery which would be miserable if I had nothing else to drive but it appears Arrma is addressing this with upgraded diffs now so hopefully that will remedy this issue. I heartily recommend the Arrma groms! ALOT of fun for little $$$

Fun little car that is pretty durable. Easy to work on and upgrade. These are a blast on the street as well with foam or rubber tires. Get your friends to get one too and have a blast!
