About the SCX10 III Coyote
Chassis & Body
The Coyote is built on the proven, realistic Axial SCX10 III platform. Its one-piece steel C-channel chassis is easy to work on, reduces frame flexing, and increases the precision of suspension movement. Created by Pro-Line, the factory-painted Coyote polycarbonate body offers more than trail- and comp-ready looks. It mounts without any body clips and can be completely removed for easy chassis access. The body is contoured to slip through obstacles and allow ample tire clearance and suspension articulation.
Suspension & Drivetrain
The competition-style composite smooth body shocks improve tire clearance and provide smooth, predictable handling over any terrain. These pro-inspired shocks combine the right amount of support and droop. The SCX10 III Coyote’s multi-link, solid axle suspension features 6mm stainless steel links and all-metal pivot balls for off-road durability. AR45P portal axles increase the SCX10 III Coyote’s ground clearance at the differential for easier off-road handling. The front axle features overdrive gears to improve climbing performance and maneuverability.
Electronics
The Coyote’s factory-installed brushed power system features a 35T Axial 540 motor and waterproof Spektrum 40A ESC. A metal geared Spektrum S664 servo is included for strong, dependable steering. The included Spektrum SLT2 transmitter is designed to help all drivers succeed on the trails. Its throttle limiting feature can limit the rig's maximum available speed to 50% or 75% until you're ready for it all. Four AA batteries are included.

This a nice truck and pretty well setup for price. Weather has me pinned in from any rock outcrops, but have spent time on larger urban rock gardens with average incline of 35-40% percent incline. Running 2200 mah 2s battery and Treal portal covers up front weighs in at 5.79 pounds. Suspension is nimble, lot of clearance around both axles, approach and departure angles good. Pulling grade ESC and motor are pretty damn good and smooth, and I am one of those super picky and sensitive types to cogging, I personally like just stupid dead crawl. But it’s easy to find throttle and truck stays on target. Clip less body is definitely nice feature although the weight princesses might be offended at the top load of clip less system. The 4.9 Prolines and dual stage foams are the jewel of this truck, they are soft with the foams and nailing smooth rock day one without scrubbing in. Yes they are glued on and yes is lacking wheel weight but I don’t see a reason to ditch those up for now. Only issues so far I’ve immediately noticed is oddly enough it cogs going downhill and gets jumpy, drag brake struggles to hang on, and if not paying attention or on the wrong line it will torque twist, sometimes just twerking the servo will settle it back. Nothing will ever be perfect but this is solid set up for at this time $350. Bottom line is it would take a lot of cutting, removing and redoing another box stock truck at this price point to do what this one can do day one
I Love the truck. It would have got five stars if I would known that the dig unit was discontinued before I bought it
Very nice crawler. Worked well out of the box but for me, I had to put 85mm shocks on it to lower it a bit, reconfigure the shock geometry to get the center of gravity lower and then it performed how I wanted it to. Definitely worth every penny and a great platform to start tinkering with. The tires are absolutely some of the best I've ever ran, and they are not the same as what you can buy separately. These tires are very soft! Identical part number, identical everything but this compound is completely different then what is sold separately I like them so much I found a set of take offs on eBay and bought them immediately.
This Rc Crawler is a 10/10!! I’ve had multiple crawlers,3 trx4s, Scx10.3 base camp, Scx10.3 gladiator, and a few other cheaper brand crawlers. Out of every one of my previous ones, this one is my favorite. Straight out of the box it can outperform my built crawlers. The only thing I have planned for this one until stuff starts breaking is add a little weight to the front end. I highly recommend this crawler to anyone, not just beginners. Axial made some slight upgrades that’ll help the durability of this crawler, one of the best ones with the upgraded panhard bar mount. For the money, you can’t beat this one!
this truck is a must have its super quiet and works fantastic straight out of the box. Overdrive is awesome as well it goes perfect and gets up incredible stuff in the dirt and it was phenomenal on the rocks the Maxxis Trepadors just grip on anything. Super happy with this truck.
Reviewers of the Axial SCX10 III Coyote 1/10 RTR (Blue) generally report strong out-of-the-box performance on rocks, slopes and trails, with praise for its climbing ability, quiet and smooth drivetrain, and value for price. Several owners made upgrades, most often shocks, portal covers, motor and ESC, and some felt the stock setup was adequate but not competition-grade. Recurring criticisms include shock tower mounting limits that restrict ride height adjustment, and the stock servo and motor being replaced by some buyers. Some reviews mention component durability, with suspension links and steering parts breaking under heavy use. One reviewer noted the dig unit was discontinued. Most reviews are verified and positive, with a few mixed opinions.
