First, I LOVE this thing. I've wanted a large crawler for so long and I finally have one. There are some good things about this crawler, drawbacks and some bad. I'd recommend this to anybody who wants this size of crawler and understands that it's A: Not perfect B: because of it's size and weight you have to be careful with it, if you crawl-bash this isn't for you. Good - It's HUGE! - It's brushless and sensored! - They did a good job with the brushless system. I was descending a hill so slow I was passed by snail. in high gear it's decently quick, not fast but remember it's a crawler, if you want fast this isn't for you. - For the size and weight the suspension matches. It's on the stiff side but it's more scale and holds up well for it's weight. - It's a a whole new way of crawling, since it's so large how and where you crawl are totally different. - Overall I've had a lot of fun with this crawler will continue to enjoy it. There really isn't anything on here I'm disappointed with as a crawler. Individual things, maybe. - Tires and foams are pretty decent, just like the 10.3, not extreme but pretty decent. Bad/mehs - Meh: the servo is ok, a lot of people are complaining it's super weak but it's the flex in the mounts, not so much the servo. - Meh: The Internal BEC is at 6v, you can change this but you'll blow the ESC fan and LED. But realistically not a big deal, just add an external BEC when you upgrade the servo. - Bad: Mounting the body is TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. If you have a 10.3 it's the exact same but worse. - Bad: There's a lot of flex in the servo mount and related components you can hear plastic flexing in situations. - Bad: For the price it lacks any sort of add value, it could have easily come with some more scale details and improvements to the body mounts to
Very impressive size and quality components. Rated 4 stars as right out of the box, the Jeep would not run in high gear. Ran fine in first gear but slipped once in second. Had to remove the transmission and tighten the slipper clutch. After doing this, the Jeep runs great! It goes over all terrain with ease. I do think Horizon and Axial need to address this slipper clutch as I know of several other owners who have had the same problem. Recommend this crawler.
Been in the hobby for a bit all my own money invested. This truck is awesome! Just like any hobby truck it's got its upgrades that will be needed butaxial raised the bar with this truck! Huge! Worth the money if you enjoy the hobby!
Really a well thought out rc ,a really neat driving experience, except for the steering servo being a little weak , a must upgrade top notch tiny truck
Scx6 experience is great for a 1/6 scale crawler Nothing else can compare recommend for any crawler enthusiasts
Reviewers generally rate the Axial SCX6 Jeep JLU Wrangler highly, praising its large size, build quality, brushless sensored system, and scale Jeep look. Several describe it as a fun, capable crawler that climbs well and handles rough terrain, though it is not designed for speed. One reviewer reported the truck would not run in high gear out of the box and fixed it by tightening the slipper clutch, and notes other owners reported the same issue. Another reviewer found the steering servo weak and recommends an upgrade. Reviewers also note the size and weight require careful handling, and that some upgrades are expected over time. All reviews are for the Green variant.
