Albert HUTHon Beacon Adhesive Foam Filler Putty (8 oz)

I have used beacon adhesive foam but not the filler putty. I use DAP light weight spackling to fill holes and nicks, It is easy to work with and when dry it will be hard and then you can sand it a bit to make it smooth and you can paint it. You can also mold it to a curve shape for example.

sand paper has no real affect on smoothing out the wrinkles. Its like epoxy only real thick. ruined a perfectly good airplane. it got tosted into garbage as there was no saving it. and for use on a foamy you better make it perfect the first time cause thats it. I tried 180 and 120 grit which was a waste of time. If you need a pinhead filled maybe but that's all folks.

I don't have a lot of experience with other foam fillers but this one works as advertised. Can add a little water to thin as desired. Easy clean up, doesn't have a strong odor and sands well. I would buy again

What reviewers say

Reviewers are divided on this 8 oz filler putty. Two of three reviews rate it 5/5, praising its easy workability, ability to be thinned with water, clean-up, mild odour, and smooth sanding once dried; one reviewer notes it can be moulded to curved shapes and painted. The 1/5 review, from a verified owner, reports that sandpaper (120 and 180 grit) did not smooth the filler and that it was suitable only for small pinhead-sized fills, leading to a damaged airplane. The reviews conflict directly on sandability, and one positive reviewer had not used the Beacon foam adhesive. The sample is small.

  • + Easy to work with
  • + Thins with water
  • + Easy clean-up and mild odour
  • + Sands well when dry
  • − Sandpaper ineffective for one reviewer
  • − Suitable only for small fills per one reviewer
  • − Hard to correct mistakes once applied
