About this part
CA Glue Overview:
IC-2000™ Rubber-Toughened CA from Bob Smith Industries is a specialized cyanoacrylate adhesive designed for high-strength, shock-resistant bonds on non-porous surfaces. Reinforced with rubber for added flexibility, this black-colored CA glue is perfect for applications where impact durability is critical—whether in RC hobby projects or industrial assembly. With a set time of 20–40 seconds (accelerated with INSTA-SET™), IC-2000™ is versatile and tough enough for bonding metals, carbon fiber, rubber, and fiberglass. Ideal for everything from RC car tires to bulkheads in model aircraft, it’s a go-to adhesive for serious builders.
About the Adhesive
High-Strength Bonding with Flexible Durability
IC-2000™ excels in situations where both a strong bond and shock resistance are required. Its rubber-toughened formula adds flexibility without compromising adhesive strength, making it ideal for materials like carbon fiber, rubber, and fiberglass. This adhesive bonds quickly and securely, and once cured, it can even be shaped with a hobby knife—useful for modelers needing precision. Its performance is trusted not only in hobby circles but also by major manufacturers such as Boeing, Beechcraft, and Volkswagen for critical applications that demand durability and reliability.

This is the strongest adhesive I have ever used on RC car tyres. I found it takes longer to cure than standard CA so there is time to work it around the tyre bead. You need to be using black rims though. If you use your tires for more than a few races this is this go. I have not seen any other glue hold the side wall of the tyre bead, this can. Tyres can still be removed from rims with acetone.
Bob Smith Industries creates some of the best glues in the world. Ive been using a few of their products for years now, including the IC-2000. When using this glue, I have NEVER had a tire come unseated from the wheel/rim in the 5+ years I have used IC-2000. Even up against overpowered 1/8 scale builds running on 8S, it prevails. When working with pre-mounted tires, I always add a bead of IC-2000 over the top of the original glue, creating a rediculously strong pre-mount.
Great glue. It is the only glue that will keep the tires on my yeti xl.Used on axial ryft kit recently glue has done awesome!
My favorite glue for sure. Has a little bit more set time to settle and play with the tire and dries black.
All four reviewers rate this adhesive 5/5 and describe it as strong for bonding RC tyres to rims and for keeping beads seated. Reviewers note a longer cure time than standard CA, which gives room to work the tyre into position. One reviewer says it works well on black rims and that tyres can still be removed with acetone. Another reports long-term use without a tyre coming unseated, including on heavy 1/8 scale 8S builds, and uses it over factory pre-mount glue. No reviewer reports a problem or disagrees with the others. The sample is small and the reviews are brief.
- + Holds tyre beads strongly
- + Longer set time for positioning
- + Can be removed with acetone
- + Reported to hold on heavy 8S builds
- − Longer cure time than standard CA
- − One reviewer notes it suits black rims
