About this part

The Bowhouse Element/SCX10 SVT Low CG Multipurpose Skid is a high performance low CG multipurpose skid option that fits Element and Axial-based trucks. The SVT is truly the Swiss Army knife of skids. This upgrade allows you to to lower the transmission by 3mm and improve driveline angles on your Element Enduro. Plus, it allows you to use an AX10 3-gear transmission in an Element, or use the Element Stealth X transmission in an SCX10/SCX10 II. The design also makes it easier to install Element IFS conversion kit on your SCX10 or SCX10 II. Additionally, the SVT skid features a butter smooth under belly that slides over rocks with ease.

Features:
  • ELEMENT
    • Lowers stock transmission by 3mm without impacting ground clearance
    • Improves driveline angles
    • Allows installation of Axial AX10 3-gear transmission
    • Works with solid front axle and IFS versions of the Element
    • Works with both transmission orientations
    • Fits stock Element pivot balls
  • SCX10 / SCX 10 II
    • Lowers transmission by approx. 1mm without impacting ground clearance
    • Allows installation of Element Stealth X transmission
    • Allows installation of Element IFS conversion without having to trim skid mounting holes
    • Fits stock Axial pivot balls
Installation notes
  • Start by removing stock skid.  Save the screws and locknuts used to attach upper links to the chassis, and the screws used to attach the skid in each of the 2 middle holes on each side of the skid.
  • Insert SVT Multipurpose skid into chassis and use stock screws to attach the skid to the chassis in each of the 2 middle holes on each side.
  • Use stock screws and locknuts to attach rear and front (if applicable) upper links after installing the skid.
  • Use M3 x 20mm set screws in place of stock set screws to attach front and rear lower links (or IFS skid and rear lower links if running IFS).
  • Use 4x M3 x 12mm flat head screws to fasten transmission to skid.
  • Use 2x M3 x 12mm BHCS screws and M3 locknuts to attach skid to chassis in forward-most skid holes when running IFS setups.  You do not need to use these screws if running solid front axle.
  • You do not need to use screws in the forward-most and rearward-most slider holes.
  • Go out and play!

  • (1) Skid
  • (1) Transmission spacer
  • (4) M3 x 20mm set screws
  • (4) M3 x 12mm flat head screws

It's OK, You have to used the spacer to raise the gearbox if your motor can is too big or the bolt holding the 3rd member link rides up against the motor. I have a Hobbywing Fusion Pro.

Installed on a Element Sendero HD and everything fit perfect. Material is strong and glides over jagged rocks easily. Works for both Axial and Element transmissions. Would recommend along with the low CG battery tray.

I’ve put this on my element trailrunner along with the low CG battery tray from bow house and together they made a noticeable difference in side hilling especially. Everything lined up correctly overall a nice product

What reviewers say

Three verified owners report on this skid plate, with two rating it 5/5 and one 3/5. Reviewers agree that it fits Element and SCX10-style chassis, including an Element Sendero HD and an Element Trailrunner, and that the material is strong and slides easily over rocks. Two reviewers mention pairing it with BowHouse's low CG battery tray, which one says improved side-hill stability. The lower-rated review notes that fitment may need a spacer to raise the gearbox when the motor can is large or the third member link bolt contacts the motor, in that case using a Hobbywing Fusion Pro. The sample is small.

  • + Fits Element and SCX10 chassis
  • + Strong material
  • + Slides easily over rocks
  • + Improved side-hill stability with low CG tray
  • − May need a spacer for large motor cans
  • − Third member link bolt can contact motor
