RELIABILITY CAN’T BE IGNORED
Without a robust and reliable design, efficiency will only go so far. The Castle engineers know this and spared no expense when developing a design that could hold up to the harsh conditions that the RC community will throw at it. Oversized NMB bearings and vibration dampening system ensure the longest bearing life possible. High-strength, high-temperature grade neodymium sintered magnets combined with a high-strength Kevlar wrap ensures the integrity of the rotor is not compromised during harsh running conditions. Proprietary winding techniques allow Castle to produce a stator assembly that is the lowest possible resistance, resulting in a cooler running motor. A cooler motor has a longer lifetime. Construction required careful component selection; each verified through internal testing to ensure the highest efficiency possible. In the end, the result is a motor with unmatched quality, performance, and reliability.

SMARTSENSE™
SMARTSENSE uses the motors sensors to start the motor to provide smooth starts, excellent torque, and low-speed drivability. Once the motor is turning, it seamlessly transitions to Castle’s ULTRA- EFFICIENT sensorless mode. When running, a motor must transition between different load points and a different timing advance is required for optimal efficiency at all load points. Using mechanical timing adjustments alone, you can only target one driving condition, such as higher start power or higher top end speed. This sacrifices performance and efficiency during the other driving phases. Electronic timing in SMARTSENSE will advance timing automatically for peak performance during all driving conditions. This allows users to combine the best of both worlds in an unrivaled HYBRID between smooth sensored startups and high-efficiency sensorless drive.

Put this in my Axial ryft. Paired with the copperhead esc, this motor has smooth start up and lots of power. Great combo
Great motor, best match for the RBX10 Ryft and the Mamba X ESC.5mm shaft gives the extra strength needed to power over the rocks and not worry about it snapping.
Biggest problem is motor is usually out of stock. I have been using this motor since it first came out. Motor used to have a smaller pinion shaft which would break but the motor itself is a beast. Now with this current version with 5mm shaft and sensored it's perfect. Motor runs strong and has tons of torque and power. Watch gearing this beast can get hot. I would not recommend for slash 4x4 but its perfect for my tekno short course truck or something similar.
Don't want to be Debby Downer as I have FIVE cars on Castle already, but this particular motor, along w/ the 1515 motor/ ESC combo I bought prior were no good "out of the box"......and took out TWO Mamba X ESC's in the process. No chiming, no run at all w/ sensor harness connected, super coggy w/o sensor harness and intermittent stopping. Numerous emails to Castle directly. 89.00 to ship THREE motors and TWO ESC's BACK to Castle for WARRANTY.............jury's not out on how that's going to go. Couldn't say enough about Castle prior .......we'll see if they make good, but most likely the last time around for me and will definitely purchase a different brand going forward
