About this part

The Castle Creations CC BEC 2.0 WP was developed for racers, crawlers, and hard core bashers with an integrated 15 amp peak power regulator in a CNC machined, waterproof (WP) aluminum case. The BEC 2.0 WP can handle up to 14S without brake enabled or 12S with brake, making this a perfect choice for high voltage applications!

The CC BEC 2.0 features heavy duty, dual output wires that will provide clean power to sensitive radio equipment. Castle Link (not included) can be used to set the output from 4.75 to 12 volts, easily handling power hungry servos, cameras, and other accessories.

NOTE: CC BEC 2.0 should never be operated in series or parallel with another BEC or backup receiver pack connected to the RX/Servo side of the circuit.

I purchased the Castle Creations BEC 2.0 Waterproof for my Axial SCX10 that was equiped with a Castle Creations Sidewinder ESC. The Sidewinder ESC only put out 5.0V to the servo, not enough for the high voltage servo I had turning the wheels when I was crawling. As well, since the BEC 2.0 is waterproof, I knew I could do stream crossings and such without worry of frying any of my electronics. I really like the BEC, it's easy to program and easy to wire up.

Work’s great once it’s programmed, but getting it to connect using B-link can be a nightmare.

What reviewers say

Reviewers largely praise the Castle Creations BEC 2.0 Waterproof (15 Amp) for reliable 8V-class output, strong waterproofing, and good power for high-voltage servos on crawlers and trucks. Several note it runs hot and recommend mounting on a metal surface with thermally conductive adhesive; one reviewer reported temperatures dropping considerably after doing so. Programming is generally described as easy with Castle Link or the Castle programmer, which several reviewers note must be bought separately. The main recurring problem is connection difficulty with B-Link or Blink-2 programming: one reviewer said it was hard to connect and another reported five units that would not connect to the Blink-2, leaving them at 5.25V. Most ratings are 5/5, with one 3/5 and one 1/5, the latter citing the connection issue.

  • + Waterproof and rugged construction
  • + Strong power for high-voltage servos
  • + Easy to program and wire
  • + Runs well once configured
  • − Connection problems with B-Link or Blink-2
  • − Runs hot without good mounting
  • − Programmer sold separately
