Broke the first time I put my trailer on with a rock crawler on it ,

Works great if you’re not pulling anything with the slightest of tongue weight. The plastic piece bends very easily with either cross member. If possible, create your own cross member from something other than plastic. Don’t buy this and get some thing else.

Great overall however was expecting an aluminum crossmember not plastic. Other than that everything else is metal and is amazingly detailed

The kit is strong and easy to install. The hardened plastic receiver/cross member is much stronger then the stock X member. It works well with the single car/truck tandem trailer I have. The Axial SCX10 III Wrangler I pull is very heavy with too many aluminum parts, and there is no deflection problems in the hitch. If you need a heavier duty hitch, think about a Goose Neck or 5th wheel. The only thing I'm looking for is stronger springs for the rear stock shocks.

What reviewers say

Reviewers are divided on this hitch. Two reviewers reported problems: one said it broke the first time a trailer was attached to a rock crawler, and another said the plastic cross member bends easily under even slight tongue weight, recommending a non-plastic alternative. Two others rated it highly, praising the metal parts, detail, and ease of installation, and one found the plastic receiver and cross member stronger than the stock part for light tandem trailer use. Two reviewers expected an aluminum cross member and noted it is plastic. Overall, reviewers agree on the plastic cross member, but disagree on its strength under load.

  • + Easy to install
  • + Metal parts with good detail
  • + Stronger than stock cross member for light trailers
  • − Plastic cross member bends under load
  • − Broke during use with a rock crawler
  • − Not aluminum cross member as expected
