John Odojon CEN Reeper Mega Brushless 1/7 RTR 4WD Monster Truck

This truck seems well built and is a good value for something this size but you get what you pay for. Right out of the box I soldered on a qs8 connector for my powerhobby 6500mah 120c 6s battery. Plugged it in and got 5mins of run time before the truck refused to go in reverse and the steering servo completely locked up. Never had any issues with other rtr vehicles but they use pretty cheap electronics on this one. Having to spend $400 on a max 6 combo and new servo after 1 run, I have buyers remorse.

I've wanted this truck since I laid my eyes on it, and in person it's even more impressive. It seems very well build and solid. I did have a pinion gear break on my second pack, and I contacted Cen with a few pictures and an email and in 3 days there was a new one in my mailbox. So no complaints about that. On 6s it was all the power I need. It hit 52 mph on my gps. It's a beast but i don't have enough time on it to give a 10 out of 10. But if your looking for X-Maxx size on a budget or just something a bit differnt. I fully recommend the Reeper. Every time I see it I smile and rocking wheelies down the street brings me back to being a kid. I love it.

The CEN Reeper is a huge good looking truck. It's fast and durable.

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally rate the CEN Reeper Mega Brushless 1/7 RTR highly, citing its size, looks, speed (one reviewer reported about 52 mph on 6S), and good value, with one buyer noting prompt warranty replacement of a broken pinion gear. One reviewer, who did not indicate verified ownership, reported a negative experience: after soldering a QS8 connector and running a 6S pack for about five minutes, the truck would not reverse, the steering servo locked up, and replacement parts were costly. That reviewer described the electronics as cheap relative to other RTR vehicles. Another reviewer reported a pinion gear failure on the second pack. Most reviews are short and brief on long-term durability, and several are sentimental rather than technical.

  • + Large, good-looking size
  • + High speed on 6S
  • + Good value for the size
  • + Responsive customer service and warranty replacement
