Will NOT work for sport model. Is too long with ends turned all the way in. Can't find shorter ends either.....would give no stars

Not very impressed with these. As other reviewers have mentioned, the main link is too long, causing too much toe out. Another issue is that the holes in the ends of the links do not have deep enough threads. When threading in the long grub screws, after they bottom out, there is too much screw sticking out to allow the Traxxas rod ends to fully seat on the link. In order to get these links to work correctly, I needed to re-tap the link ends with a bottoming tap to get deeper threads and then I cut about a millimeter off the ends of the Traxxas rod ends to correct the overall length of the link once installed. Once I did these two modifications, the links are working fine, but I'm a bit disappointed for how much these cost.

Very heavy brass links. They do not fit a TRX4 without considerable shortening. I am still working on them. I will make them work but I shouldn't have to. They would be useless to someone that doesn't have the ability to modify them.

I bought this kit for my TRX4 Sport and I'm extremely happy with it. I previously had the Hot Racing steering link on my truck and I vastly prefer this kit. Despite the roughly 2 degree toe out with the ball ends run all the way down, I would definitely buy this kit again and recommend to others. The Traxxas Revo ball ends that are included in the kit have more articulation and are smoother in my opinion. The movement in the ball ends actually helps the tie rod pivot a little up or down a few degrees which can help in some crawling situations but still clears my Samix 60g diff cover and Injora skid plate at full lock no matter what position it's in.

Amazing links! I use them in my TRX-4 Chassis Kit and I’m loving it! I’ve been using them for about a month now and they have performed very well. I purchased these mostly to provide an extra bit of turning radius and it definitely delivers! I have been pretty hard on it too-putting it underwater, scraping on rocks, and filling it with mud. It hasn’t rusted at all and the front weight is a nice bonus. Today I actually hit a ledge faster than I expected and it snapped the arm off of the portal carrier but didn’t even bend the steering link! I can absolutely recommend these links!

What reviewers say

Reviews are mixed. Two verified owners rated the links 1/5 and 2/5, reporting that the main link is too long for a TRX-4, causing excess toe-out, and that the link-end threads are too shallow for the Traxxas rod ends to seat fully. One reviewer re-tapped the ends and trimmed the rod ends to make them work, and another said the links would be unusable without modification. Two reviewers rated them 5/5, praising extra turning radius, durability and corrosion resistance, with one noting roughly 2 degrees of toe-out at full droop. One reviewer with a TRX-4 Sport said the links fit well with aftermarket parts. The main recurring issue is fitment and length without modification; reviews do not clearly distinguish between Sport and other TRX-4 variants beyond the comments noted.

  • + Extra turning radius
  • + Durable under hard use
  • + Resists rust
  • + Clears aftermarket diff cover and skid plate
  • − Main link too long, causing toe-out
  • − Shallow threads in link ends
  • − Requires modification to fit
  • − Heavy brass construction
