D-Links High Clearance Brass Link Kit for Traxxas TRX-4 (313mm)
About this part
NOTE: Photo of assembled links is for illustrative purposes only. The links you will receive are unassembled and require assembly.
- Brass (1/4"): Heavy weight, typically used as lower links for good vehicle balance. It typically slides better then aluminum.
- High Clearance Option: The high clearance option gives you a bend on the links to help clear obstacles. You may find on certain vehicles this will leave your drive shaft more exposed to damage. Some folks will put spacers between the link and rod end to clock the driveshaft upwards out of the way.
- Rod Ends: D-links uses the Traxxas revo rod ends (TRA5347). They have proven to be reliable, long lasting and easily replaced when needed.
- Warranty: D-Links are made in the U.S.A. All D-Links are lifetime guaranteed. Send the broken link to D-Links and receive a brand new one. D-Links does not guarantee the rod ends as they are a wear item.

These are a nice upgrade to get some more weight down low. Good build quality but my only complaint is no directions at all. Just a bag of parts… It took some time to figure out which way they need to be facing and which one goes where. I’d suggest doing one at a time and matching them up so you get them in the right place. From what I found (and I’m not all that positive due to no directions) is that the front and rear links need to have the bend closer to rear mounting screws. Otherwise I had some binding and clearance issues.
I was very happy with the D-Links high clearance steering link set that I got for my TRX4 Sport so I decided to go ahead and get this set to finish out the arms on the truck. After getting all the links out of the packaging, I realized the rear upper links had some beveling on 3 of the 4 ends and the 4th had a cut that wasn't straight in relation to the link with a pretty decent burr on it that I needed to cut off. I looked closer and found that the lengths were about 1.5mm different from each other. The edges on all the other links were nice and square with no finishing issues. For someone just getting into the hobby without good tools, this would be difficult to remedy. For hobbyists that have the tools, it's just mildly annoying to have to fix new parts. After installing the links, I noticed the end on the front upper suspension link rubs on the panhard link during articulation. A little sanding of the end will give you enough clearance for them to not interfere. Unfortunately the thickness of the new panhard link causes it to hit the axle housing when picking up the front left corner, limiting articulation. The only way I can think to fix this is to mill the panhard link and ends to a smaller diameter or go back to the stock link. Either solution would fix the previous issue of the panhard hitting the link end on the upper link as well. After reading a few other reviews on their products, D-Links seems to have an issue with consistency and fit/finish. I do understand that these parts are handmade and therefore are subject to such things, but I can't shake the slight feeling of disappointment with this product/purchase. I probably wouldn't buy this one again nor would I recommend it to someone else unless they make some updates or improve QC.
