Works great and good price does everything I need it to do.
I purchased this to solder a Traxxas ID esc connector to a new Castle creations sidewinder 4, I also had to make up some motor wire extensions/4mm to 3mm adapters for the same esc. This 60w soldering iron got the job done easily, it is quick to heat up and seemed to put out plenty of heat for the joins I made. Pro tip: I was a little concerned this wouldn't be powerful enough for the job I chose it for so I pre heated the terminals with a propane torch. This worked great and made good solid joins quickly!
Great soldering iron. I was having trouble with the ones you get from the harbor freight or walmart. The store ones are only 30w and only good for like 16ga wire and smaller. This duratrax iron is 60w and I was easily able to solder 10ga battery wires. It even feels heavier and better quality. I highly recommend and would buy again.
Reviewers consistently report that the DuraTrax TrakPower TK60 60W soldering iron performs well for RC wiring tasks. Buyers say it heats quickly, delivers enough heat for heavy gauge work such as 10 AWG battery wire and ESC connector joins, and feels well built. One reviewer noted that pre-heating larger terminals with a propane torch helped achieve solid joints. All three reviews are five stars, and none mention problems, so the sample is small.

- + Solid, well-built feel
- + Good value for price
- − Heavy, may need pre-heating for large terminals
