Simple to install....was having overheating issues from changing to higher than desirable gearing for the sake of top speed/ wheel speed on a RTR Yeti. Before gearing down towards stock again, decided to run w/ fan in place. Ran fine w/o anymore shut downs. Run this rig hard in a huge dirt storm wash basin...…...the equivalent of being in a empty swimming pool w/ lots of roosts, drifts and airborns
I got this for my Axial Smt10 and WOW what an improvement in cooling. I had to cut away part of the bottom of the shroud for it to fit,but it is working great.
Works great and durable. I was having overheating issues on long 3s runs in my Associated MT -10 but not anymore thanks to this fan/shroud. I also purchased the 1/8 TH scale motor version for my Tekno buggy and it works awesome too. Highly recommend for a budget friendly easy to install motor cooling option.
Won’t work on losi dynamite motor setup. Not strong enough to turn. Keeps getting stuck due to magnets in motor.
Don't buy this. One of the worst fans on the market stopped working after a week.
Reviewers are split. Three verified owners rate it 5/5, reporting that it is easy to install and reduces motor overheating on high gearing or long runs in Yeti, Axial SMT10, Associated MT-10 and Tekno buggies. One reviewer had to trim part of the shroud to fit an Axial SMT10. Two reviews rate it 1/5: one reports the fan is too weak to turn and catches on motor magnets on a Losi Dynamite setup, and the other reports it stopped working after a week. The 1/8 scale variant is mentioned by one reviewer as working well, but the reviews are few and conflicting on durability and fit.
