Fast delivery and this is a Super fun plane, easy to fly and and do lots of acrobatics yet is safe! May get one more to have family fun fly ? waiting for the my LED (ordered) to arrive to complete the package ???
4.5 Stars since it’s almost perfect. I’ll start with the bad. The binding experience with an NX7e was miserable. It just would not bind no matter what I did. It wasn’t until I read on Reddit that many people were only able to bind when using the “hybrid” frame rate. I did that and binding happened instantly. I’m telling the Tx I’m using digital servos which is not the case. For a BNF that’s been around for years this should have been fixed. Now for the good. It flies amazing on 1s, really stable and is very quick. For such a small aircraft it’s quite impressive how it flies. The EPP foam seems quite sturdy and dense, I would expect minor crashes to not be an issue. At most you’re breaking a prop which can be replaced. Speaking of props, nowhere on the product page does it say a spare set of props are included in the box. I’m glad they were included but it would have been nice to know they’d be in there since I ordered spares separately. Overall quite satisfied other than the binding issue.
This plane is a lot of fun. You can fly it fast or slow. Safe mode works great. Easy to launch and land.
Great fun. You can fly super fast if you have the room or if you feel like it you can fly it slow speed.
Amazing, best plane in my hanger. I have 7 or 8 umx planes this one is my favorite by far. Super slow or super fast. Safe mode or 3d crazy. Cool flat spins with the differential thrust. Super durable. Small and easy to bring, 1s batteries are cheap and easy to charge. Perfect 2nd plane to learn more aerobatics, i'de get the sport cub s for total beginner . The ultrix binds and flies great with the MLP6DSM rtf horizon controller. Was kind of a pain to bind to my radiomaster T-16 but i got it working.
Reviewers overwhelmingly praise the E-flite UMX Ultrix for being fun, versatile and easy to fly. It is described as handling slow, relaxed flying as well as fast aerobatics, with Safe mode appreciated for beginners and 3D-style flying for experienced pilots. Several reviewers note it is small, easy to transport, and durable, with the EPP foam considered sturdy. One reviewer reports a 1S 800mAh battery balances well when pushed into the front battery compartment gap. The main recurring issue is binding: one reviewer could not bind an NX7e until switching to a 'hybrid' frame rate found online, and another reported difficulty binding to a Radiomaster T-16 before getting it working. Overall sentiment is strongly positive.
- + Fun to fly at slow and fast speeds
- + Safe mode suits beginners
- + Durable and sturdy EPP foam
- + Small, easy to transport, cheap 1S batteries
- − Binding difficulties with some transmitters
- − Requires workaround (hybrid frame rate) for NX7e binding
- − Small size makes it hard to see at distance
