E-flite UMX™ Eratix 3D Flat Foamy BNF Basic Electric Airplane (450mm) w/AS3X® & SAFE® Select
About this part
Micro Aircraft with 3D Aerobatic Capability
The E-flite® UMX™ Eratix 3D Flat Foamy BNF Basic Electric Airplane combines compact size, precision engineering, and powerful performance for an unmatched ultra-micro flying experience. Scaled down from the popular Eratix 3D FF 860mm, this 450mm version delivers the same exceptional flat foamy (FF) aerobatic and sport-flying capabilities in smaller spaces. Arriving 100% factory assembled, it's designed for intermediate to experienced pilots who want to enjoy smooth, stable, and agile 3D flight almost anywhere.
About the UMX Eratix Airplane
Innovative Design
The UMX Eratix features a laser-cut, composite-reinforced flat foam airframe that balances lightweight agility with impressive durability. Oversized control surfaces and a streamlined structure provide exceptional 3D maneuverability, from hovering to rolling circles. Its portability and no-hassle setup mean you can enjoy top-tier aerobatic performance in nearly any location without the complexity of larger builds or extensive assembly time.
Advanced Electronics & Power System
This airplane is equipped with a powerful 2S-compatible brushless outrunner motor featuring a prop saver, delivering abundant thrust for unlimited vertical and precise 3D control. The integrated control unit includes an ESC and a Spektrum™ receiver with 2.4GHz DSMX® technology and real-time battery telemetry, while four factory-installed servos provide confident control. Together, these electronics ensure smooth, responsive handling and reliable performance during every flight session.
Smart Technology & Control
Exclusive Spektrum AS3X® technology works behind the scenes to counteract wind and turbulence, giving the UMX Eratix a locked-in, larger-airplane feel. Optional SAFE® Select technology adds flight envelope protection, including automatic self-leveling and pitch angle limits, which can be activated or deactivated with a switch. These features make the aircraft adaptable for both learning maneuvers and pushing the limits of advanced 3D flight.

Fantastic Plane if you understand what it is, and what it is not. This is a great plane to fly indoors. If flies faster than a Twisted Hobbies plane, but it is a lot smaller than an Ulta Light Crack Yak. That allows you to fly in some pretty tight spots. I wish it had more throw in the elevator and rudder, but the throw is sufficient. I converted mine to xt30 to make it easier to charge and adapt batteries. It was too much of a pain to use the JST thing that comes on it. I do not find a weight penalty with the xt 30. The plane flies like a real plane rc plane. This is NOT a twisted hobbies, indestructible forgiving plane. If you crash it can be bad. If you crash a Twisted Hobby plane, it is usually unharmed. You need to land when the timer goes off. The prop is fine, but I wish they had offered with a traditional rubber band prop saver. The quick disconnect works to eject the prop on impact, but I have broken the prop anyway. The plane will hover, and do any trick you can attempt on a 60" balsa plane, but it is NOT a Crack Yak, that can be put back together with some foam tac in 5 minutes. It has plenty of power. It does have safe, but I have never used it. You do not have the option of turning off the gyro. I have flown in my front yard and with mild wind still a blast to fly. I do use the box as a carrying case. It seems twice as big as it needs to be. But it does work.
