This is a pretty good set to throw in a kit bag as well as for a workbench. The bits have been holding up so far, even the 1.5mm has been holding up after removing pinion gear set screws that had thread locker applied. Just be sure to clean out screw heads before wrenching (as you should with any fastener) to get full engagement over the length of the bit and fastener head. It spreads the torque over a larger surface area and helps prolong the life of bits and fasteners alike. The best part, though, is the handle. The handle has a silent ratcheting mechanism that can be actuated by the little ribbed portion between the bit locking collar and the grip of the tool handle. It can also be left in the middle position for a locked, standard screwdriver, mode. Really helps save my wrists during longer sessions at the workbench.

the bits are rounded off and are slightly too big. I would like a refund, please.

Bundled with sxc24 parts, assumed it had what I needed since it was recommended. I was wrong, this kit does not include the .05 Allen needed for scx24 stuff. Same kit titled "micro" kit. It's too bad.

Hex's had a loose fit. Bought another set that are machined.

What reviewers say

Eight reviews give the EcoPower 17-piece metric Mini-Z tool set an average of about 3.3 out of 5, with ratings ranging from 1 to 5. Reviewers who praise it cite the silent ratcheting handle, a bit fit that holds up when fastener heads are cleaned first, and compatibility with Losi Mini T 2.0 and Tamiya models. Several reviewers say the set is a good value and suits a kit bag or workbench. The main recurring complaint is that the set lacks the .050 inch Allen bit needed for SCX24 parts, despite listings that suggest otherwise. Other reviewers report loose or rounded hex bits, and one says the bits are slightly oversized. One low-rated review gives no specific reason.

  • + Silent ratcheting handle
  • + Bits hold up well when fastener heads are cleaned first
  • + Works with Losi Mini T 2.0 and Tamiya models
  • + Good value and convenient carrying case
  • − Missing .050 inch Allen bit for SCX24 parts
