Before I finished installing it in my Micro-B immediately I noticed that the wire lengths were not designed for this vehicle. The battery lead is way too long and the sensor cable is several inches longer than the motor wires. During installation I found it is NOT drop-in. The battery holder plate will need to be shaved down to allow the motor to clear it, and some tabs in the receiver tray need to be removed. The ESC will NOT fit in the stock body, but seems to barely fit inside the Jconcepts S2 body. It’s definitely very zippy, but there is a noticeable delay when applying a hard throttle punch that doesn’t occur when you roll on the throttle. The battery connector used is not designed for wire-to-wire connection. If you pull on the wires instead of the plastic housing, you will pull the metal contacts out of the housing. I got this on sale for $70.
Motor gets extremely hot and runs through a battery in less than 2 minutes. I bought two and will be returning the unopened kit and changing to a different brand. Would not recommend at all. Seems like a coin flip if you get a good kit or not. Not worth the chance IMO.
Mine gets very very hot with little use and proper gear mesh etc. i cant put a smaller pinion on even after trying different motor plates. I strongly would not recommend this product and regret my purchase A main did refund me for this so I still would never hesitate purchasing anything from a main. Exceptional customer service
Easy to install and now my Micro-B rips! Super fast and has not overheated. Biggest performance boost to my car so far.
I have had some bad luck with this. It doesn't fit nicely in the micro b and required some modification to get it to fit. After this, I have noticed that it gets really hot quickly. I have a lot of experience setting mesh on gears so I know it's not adding any unwanted resistance. I have even set my nb4 + radio to limit 60% output on it. The other problem now is that the esc has been flashing signalling an issue with the sensor wire. I changed it and it still isn't working. I wouldn't recommend buying this.
