About this part

The EcoPower "Sling Shot SLV2" Sensored Brushless 3.5 Turn Drag Racing Motor was developed specifically for No Prep and Street Eliminator class drag racing. The SLV2 Drag starts with a heavily vented, lightweight can to reduce overall weight and offer efficient heat dissipation. The can houses a big wire, high purity copper, hand wound stator and high torque 13.0mm sintered Neodymium rotor to create a high torque motor option that can run with the big dogs.

Other features include large solder tabs to reduce resistance and help make it easier to attach the wires. Plus, fully adjustable timing lets you fine tune the power delivery to the surface conditions, while dual sensor ports allow easy installation in a variety of chassis configurations. These parts have been combined to deliver high end power and competition ready performance, at a sport motor price. Keep your competition in the crosshairs - take aim and fire with the Sling Shot.

This is the first low-turn motor I have owned. I have paired it with a Hobbywing XR8 Plus G2S speed control for a DR10 drag setup and am very happy with the performance. I would need some heavy convincing to shell out the extra dollars for another brand motor with similar specs.

Putting in chassis for No Prep No Bar truck. In process of tuning but really like the responsiveness, torque, and overall performance. Still plenty more to squeeze out of it as honing continues. Excellent value!

Terrible motor had zero magnet strength and absolutely zero power. I love their 4.5T motor, this one is junk.

This motor runs just as strong as a maclan drk 3.5 and a trinity 3.5. Don’t hesitate to purchase this if you need a awesome 3.5t drag motor!

What reviewers say

Four of five reviewers rate the EcoPower Sling Shot SLV2 3.5T sensored drag motor highly, describing smooth, responsive, strong performance and good value; one reviewer compares it favourably to Maclan DRK and Trinity 3.5 motors. Reviewers mention pairing it with a Hobbywing XR8 Plus G2S speed control and using it in a drag chassis, with one still tuning. The single 1/5 review reports zero magnet strength and no power, calling the unit defective, while praising the brand's 4.5T motor. The sample is small and includes one clearly negative outlier, so the reported experience is mixed in volume but consistent on performance for most buyers.

  • + Smooth, responsive power delivery
  • + Strong torque and performance
  • + Good value for the price
  • + Comparable to other 3.5T drag motors
  • − One reviewer reported zero magnet strength and no power
  • − Limited sample of reviews
