I watched alot of videos prior to picking this up. It did a whole lot better in basically stock form, (rear shock relocation, new rx/tx, winch). I cruised it around the trails, and did some light crawling today. I swapped the 3s 4200mah battery about an hour in, but it was still at 4.0 volts per cell when I checked it later. It does hang up the front end alot, but choose your path/line correctly, and this thing will be okay. The stock tires gripped better than expected. I will probably leave them on here a while, but add brass rings. Side hill was pretty good without the tent rack installed. My biggest complaint is gearing. 8mph or so was max speed. 19/87 i believe is stock. To me, the esc feels more like the old school MSC. It feels like it has set power at different throttle ranges, and max speed at about 80% throttle. 1080 esc will probably go in soon. Servo was sluggish when crawling, but did fine on the trail. It will need upgraded if you plan to use the truck for more than trails. This truck will go with me on every outing. I like it alot. Again, it really surprised me today, I did not expect the performance it dished out. I was taking lines that a modded 6x6 was having some issue with.
Great rig, looks just like my Tacoma!! Ignore the other reviewer, he's not even talking about this truck!
Parts literally fly off this truck going down the trail. It looks good, but buyer beware. Don at Associated support did not honor warrenty. He was rude lied said I cursed him out and he hung up on me so no help from Associated.
Reviewers describe the Element RC Enduro Knightrunner 4x4 RTR 1/10 rock crawler (Blue) as a capable trail truck, with one owner noting better performance after modifications such as rear shock relocation and a winch. Positives mentioned include stock tire grip and side-hill stability. Recurring complaints include top speed (about 8 mph, attributed to stock gearing) and a tendency to hang up the front end on obstacles, which one owner says can be avoided with careful line choice. One reviewer reports parts coming loose on the trail and a poor warranty experience with support. Ratings are mixed (5, 5, 1), and the sample is small, so the reliability and support picture is unclear.
- + Good grip from stock tires
- + Capable on side hills
- + Performs well after modifications
- − Low top speed from stock gearing
- − Front end hangs up on obstacles
- − Parts reportedly come loose on trail
- − Poor warranty support experience
