Exceptional replacement shock for the Vanquish Phoenix. My set works flawlessly.

These came with the Gatekeeper kit I got. Easy to assemble, no problems with air intrusion. I used green slime on the o-rings and 40wt oil from another brand. Kept preload to the manuals specs, even after several experimental runs. So nice that I'm looking to buy another set; smooth, consistent action, and won't break the bank. Deeply satisfied.

Best performing 90MM crawler shocks out there. Great upgrade for any of my axial or vanquish kit’s shocks.

Top quality shock absorbers, smooth as water, I highly recommend.

What reviewers say

Reviewers are mostly positive, with several 5/5 ratings praising smooth action, good looks, and suitability as an upgrade for Axial or Vanquish crawlers; one reviewer noted it works as a replacement shock for the Vanquish Phoenix. A 4/5 reviewer reported easy assembly, no air intrusion, and consistent performance at manual preload, and said they would buy again. The main dissenting review (1/5, verified) reported oil leaks after first bleeding, trapped air causing rebound, and oil spitting during cycling, attributing this to the plastic caps and recommending aluminum upgrades. Several reviews are brief and lack technical detail, so the picture of long-term durability is limited.

  • + Smooth, consistent action
  • + Easy to assemble
  • + Good looks
  • + Works as upgrade for Axial or Vanquish
  • − Oil leaks after first bleed
  • − Trapped air causes rebound
  • − Plastic caps criticised
