Works great in Axial SCX24's. You do need to either modify or buy an optional servo mount, the hot-racing one works great. Its easy enough to clip on the stock mount however and get it working. I've used both the digital and analog version of the servo and both work well.
Awesome! works great on my flying wing and at a great price.
Works great, plenty of power. However I gave it 4 stars because it run a little in the hot side.
Didn't work well with my axial ax24. Servo exhibited stalling and dead spots on the ground and when held in the air. Front didnt track the rear reliably. Spastic is the word that comes to mind. Have on the front and rear axles. I have the same servo on my scx24 and it works well. I'm using a furitek lizard pro/micro komodo esc/motor (which i love). Perhaps the servos draw too much current from the esc/bec being digital. For whatever reason the combination doesn't work for me. Bought two. Both exhibit the same behavior. Money not well spent. I'm going to try the analog version or an eco827 next (the eco827 works well on my daughters deadbolt). Disappointed to say the least
Fantastic servo for the price. Nothing crazy, but it's tiny and it does what it says on the box. The ears are a pretty soft plastic, easy to over-tighten a bolt if you have an aluminum servo tray and crush the plastic tab. But they are also easy to sand down to fit between the chassis rails. Just don't be a gorilla and it's a perfect SCX24 servo.
Reviewers generally find the EMAX ES08MDII a small, inexpensive servo that delivers good power and speed, with most praising it for SCX24-class chassis and flying wings. Several note it needs a modified or optional servo mount, and that the soft plastic ears can crack if overtightened, though they can be sanded to fit. One reviewer reported stalling, dead spots and poor tracking on an Axial AX24 with a Furitek ESC and suspected current draw, and another reported off-center behaviour after movement; both were a minority. One reviewer noted it runs warm. Reviews reference the same variant throughout.
