Fits well and looks good. Came with two shims that fit the the shaft the bearing slide on. It bond the rack up when I installed them top or bottom so I left them out and everything is silky smooth with no wobble or binding. Maybe the shims where to move the turnbuckle back some but I found they where not needed anywhere. Go heavy on blue thread lock and this will be a good upgrade.
Great upgrade - found the front diff input cup setscrew was contacting the original plastic rack, which caused the bearings on one side to pull through (very thin rib between the bearings on top and bottom couldn't handle the slight up-thrust). Much more robust part while having more clearance than the stock rack.
Nice quality upgrade part. I installed it along with the Exotek bell cranks on both my EB410.2 and ET410.2 when I built them. The bell cranks have a bit more slop in them than I would prefer, but its not bad enough to really effect anything or go back to the stock plastic parts. My main complaint is when trying to tighten the 5.5mm bolt thing that connects the bell cranks to the new steering rack, there isnt nearly enough of the hex exposed due to it being low profile as well as slightly countersunk into the new steering rack. This prevents getting a nut driver or socket on it and the only thing I could get to work was needlenose pliers. With the threadlock installed I havent had any issues with them coming loose, but the aluminum got scuffed up in that area during the process.
Three reviewers rate the Exotek Tekno EB410 aluminum steering rack 5/5, with all describing it as a quality upgrade over the stock plastic rack. Reviewers report smooth steering with no wobble or binding after installation. One verified owner found that the front diff input cup setscrew contacted the original plastic rack, causing bearings to pull through; the aluminum part offers more robustness and clearance. The included shims were reported as unnecessary by one reviewer, who left them out. A recurring complaint concerns the 5.5mm bolt connecting the bell cranks to the rack: its low profile and countersinking leave too little hex exposed for a standard socket or nut driver, so one reviewer needed needle-nose pliers. Reviewers recommend blue threadlock. One reviewer noted some slop in the Exotek bell cranks used alongside the rack.
- + Smooth steering with no wobble or binding
- + More robust than stock plastic rack
- + Added clearance compared with stock
- − Low-profile 5.5mm bolt hard to access with standard tools
- − Included shims unnecessary for some builds
- − Some slop in paired bell cranks
