I run the 95-100mm versions of these shocks with the short rod ends on a custom 10.2 based truck and they work great. If you put a short stroke shock on a truck that needs a 100mm shock, of course youre going to lose travel. Dont blame the shocks because you picked the wrong length. If I was putting them on a Capra I would try the 105-110mm with the short rod ends ;)
Buttery smooth, feels to be very high quality, and tunes very well. Very happy with this purchase.
Good shocks, a good value as well. Only issue is the black seals are a bit sticky. No leaks but a little drag even with green slime.
Well, I guess I'm the Guinea Pig. These really suck. I was going to install these on my Capra to lower the CG, but the stroke is so short, I have lost all of my articulation. The lengthened rod ends make these shocks like they are 70 mm with 20 mm lost stroke. They really don't have any dampening with 45wt silicone shock oil either. I thought the write up sounded good, ( the last shock you'll ever have to buy, hehehe... I wish I would have just spent this $100 on some beer instead. I am very disappointed.
Four reviews of the 85-90mm variant with Xtender rod ends give mixed ratings averaging about 3.75 out of 5. Two reviewers praise smoothness, build quality, tunability and value. One reviewer reports the short stroke, once the longer rod ends are fitted, cost them articulation on a Capra and found the damping weak with 45wt silicone oil. A fourth reviewer notes sticky black seals that drag, though with no leaks. One reviewer who runs the 95-100mm versions reports good results and says the short stroke is unsuitable for trucks needing a 100mm shock. The main recurring point is that stroke length is the deciding factor, so fit suitability depends on the vehicle.
