About this part

The FrSky SR8 Plus Archer ACCESS 2.4GHz Receiver is one of the gyro-stabilized receivers that features a built-in 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer, multiple flight modes (Auto-level, Stabilization, Knife-Edge, etc.) and several configuration methods. This unique receiver gives you the ability to add stabilization to complex or difficult aircraft with the push of a button. This full range receiver features dual detachable antennas giving you optimal antenna reception and range. The Archer Plus SR8 can also be used as a primary receiver in a redundant setup by wiring the SBUS in port and connecting to any other FrSky receiver equipped with an SBUS out port. With the FBUS protocol, the Archer Plus series receivers can open up the possibility of seamlessly pairing with multiple telemetry devices (XACT servos, ADV Sensors, etc.) as well as simplifying the builds setup.

Converting all of my planes from Spektrum to FrSky and have 8 of these receivers. Quick to set up, telemetry options are amazing. I am using the lipo and GPS sensor. Still working through the proper settings for each stabilized surface, but lots of options.

Fantastic receiver. I now have five of them in various aircraft. Slight learning curve (as with anything with stability) to get it set up, but the latest firmware makes it one of the most versatile, powerful stability systems on the market. I have some aircraft with up to 3 rudders and six aileron channels and this receiver's versatility lets me run stability on all of them. I fly my aircraft 2-3 times per week and have never had a single RSSI low or VAR low warning yet, even on my 225 mph jet. Excellent product.

I down loaded the SR8 plus. Lug files from FrSky and put the files in the root folder of SCRIPTS. When I click on the AP stab Rx Cali_ optx.lug, The program comes up but no pictures and after pressing ENTER the receiver flashes but the program stay on 1-1. (Still trying to get help 07/16/2023

I purchased a FrSky SR8 plus receiver instead of a S6R receiver because the S6R was not available. I am totally unhappy with the SR8 plus receiver due to the Lua scripts not working or being in a beta configuration. I downloaded the newest Lua for Open TX. There were no pictures showing orientation. FrSky needs to have a complete product if they want to sell them. I am unhappy. Scott Hartman

What reviewers say

Reviewers are divided on the FrSky SR8 Plus Archer ACCESS 2.4GHz Receiver. Two owners who run multiple aircraft with it praise its setup ease, telemetry options, and versatility in running stability on aircraft with several control surfaces, noting a learning curve and that recent firmware improved it. Two reviewers report problems with the companion Lua calibration scripts, including no orientation pictures and the program staying on the first step after pressing Enter, and one says the scripts seemed beta-quality. One reviewer reported an unspecified problem with a receiver purchase and returned it. Recurring issues concern the calibration software rather than the receiver hardware, and one review reports a purchase or delivery problem not related to the product itself. Reviews are few and the sample is small.

  • + Versatile stability setup across many control surfaces
  • + Wide telemetry options
  • + Quick to set up for experienced owners
  • + Reliable in regular use per one owner
  • − Lua calibration scripts reported as not working
  • − Missing orientation pictures in calibration program
  • − Learning curve for stability settings
  • − Reviewer described scripts as beta-quality
