Must have been desgined for the Losi nascar with its different motor mount because it’s not a direct fit in a Mojave Grom. You’ll need to Dremel or file the drive shaft cover for clearance not a big deal if you’re expecting it.
First A Main answered my call with questions immediately, a normal easy to communicate with speaking American unlike their competitors, they also had all the parts I was looking for on their site. Secondly the gentleman I spoke with very nice and knowledgeable and He answered my questions, he ordered the kit, and he signed me up quickly. Then to blow my mind, they immediately shipped my order and I received it in a couple days with free shipping along with $15 off I wasn't expecting. Once the esc/motor combo came it fit like a glove, easily installed, programmed and as expected the combo made the car run alot faster. I even had to make adjustments with my Radiolink transmitter to calm this thing down. I couldn't be happier and will continue to use A Main over Horizon as customer service and phone contact was definitely UNDER PROMISE AND OVER DELIVER the way a business should be run.
BUY IT NOW!! I was honestly blow away by the performance of this system. It has A LOT more punch and pep than even the Arrma 223s Brushless system, let alone the stock brushed system in the Arrma Groms. Will make a Typhon Grom easily pop wheelies on the "Normal" punch setting that you can configure in the app. Fits in a Tyhpon Grom with a small bit of persuasion. Using a 3D printed or optional ESC and Servo mount, the ESC can be double sided taped to the mount with the included tape. The motor mounts up to the stock motor plate, along with the stock pinion gear with no issues. The stock motor heatsink even fits the motor and the cooling fan can stay, of which I would recommend you keep as this Brushless system can get a bit hot. Doesn't have the annoying cogging issue on start up that I noticed my Mojave Grom 223s has so the throttle feels much more responsive. The app programibility made it so I could change the punch setting and the BEC output voltage, giving the cooling fan more airflow. Also goes a bit faster than the stock 223s brushless system and MUCH faster than the brushed system
What an amazing brushless system for my Typhon GROM! It installed in minutes without any fitment issues, set-up was easy with the bluetooth enabled app, and the performance has been better than I ever imagined. It will run circles around the OEM 223 BLX system and the adjustability is endless. I'm so tempted to run it in my NASCAR to see how it works in that platform.
I highly recommend this combo for any 1/12th-1/14th size rc, but more specifically the 1/14th scale. Paso Pro esc is 20 more amps then just the regular Paso esc, and the motor is more robust with the larger diameter shaft at 3.17" for regular 1/10th size pinions. The esc is super smooth, very easy to program through the BlueTooth app. The overall power you are getting from this combo surpasses any out there on the current market compared to ready to run packages. With this motor at 5700 KV rating, I would suggest only running on 2s for long periods but 3s only for a few speed passes. If you are looking for all hell break loose speed demon runs to catch the Guinness records, I'd go with something different but for a true racer enthusiasts I'd say just buy this and be done. I'm writing this coming from owning and currently running the Traxxas mini-ERevo, brushless Dromida series, Losi Grom series, miniB/T's and their mini-8ight's, Carisma GT14 sedans (aka Sportwerks) etc. Get these when A-Main has their holiday sales with 10%-15% off, save a fistful of dollars even the Geico caveman can't beat.
