It goes over 170 degrees Fahrenheit, loses signal completely, motor keeps revving, and car crashes. I am very careful with my cars, this damaged one of them (ESC+ENGINE)FURITEK
I have two of these motors. The first was awesome and I am still running it. The second one I received had issues. When soldering wires to the motor, the copper contact on the B connection post separated from the post and now I can't get a connection on that post. Reached out to A-Main who directed me to Furitek Support. Two unanswered emails to Furitek later, I am still in the same situation. Update... AMain has informed me that they will handle the replacement. Stay tuned...
So far so good with this motor in my Mini-T 2.0. I have heard people having problems with this motor only when paired with the Furitek esc... Mainly where the Esc was being fried but not the motor. I am running mine with the Hobbywing 16BL30 and have been pushing it pretty hard so far. I plan on throwing a 3S battery at it soon and will see how that goes. Just the swapping of motors and esc on the car the mini-T with bald tires was hitting 32mph easily without the motor getting hot.
Reviewers report mixed experiences with this sensored brushless motor for Mini-B and Mini-T chassis. One verified owner reported overheating above 170°F, signal loss, and a crash that damaged the ESC and motor, though this review does not state which ESC was used. A second verified owner was pleased with their first motor but received a second unit with a copper contact separating from the B connection post during soldering; the replacement was pending after unanswered support emails and later handled by the distributor. A third reviewer running it with a Hobbywing 16BL30 ESC reported strong performance without overheating and noted that others' problems seemed tied to the Furitek ESC. Overall, the sample is small and the reviews conflict on heat and reliability.
- + Strong performance in Mini-T
- + Runs without overheating in one report
- + Good experience with first unit
- − Overheating and signal loss in one report
- − Solder connection post separated on one unit
- − Slow support response
