Furitek Lizard Pro ESC Review – First Impressions from a Brushed SCX24 Build I’m genuinely impressed with this ESC. I powered it up, opened the app, and it paired automatically. It immediately walked me into calibration, so setup was simple and straightforward. For a first build, that matters a lot. I’m still learning, and this was one of the easiest electronics installs I’ve dealt with so far. The tuning is where this thing really stands out. It’s super smooth, and you can make it behave however you want. I like a slow, creepy, torque-heavy crawler setup, and it does that extremely well. But if someone wants a quicker or more aggressive feel, the app gives you the ability to tune it your way. That alone makes it worth it. Another big plus is that it supports both brushed and brushless motors in the app, with brushless being the default setting. Furitek also markets the Lizard Pro as app-programmable with Bluetooth support, which matched my experience exactly. ? For my install, it also came with useful extras like the Bluetooth module, receiver lead, and a battery connector adapter. I was even able to remove the included battery adapter and plug my stock Spektrum battery right in for testing. The only real issue I ran into was with the motor lead. The ESC side uses a 3-pin JST-PH style motor connection, while my brushed setup is 2-pin. That meant I had to temporarily pull the wires out of my motor connector and rig it just to test and tune. It worked, and once it was running, it was super smooth with my bigger brushed motor. But that is the one part of the install that could trip up a beginner. The fix is simple, though. AMain lists Furitek part FTK-FUK-2043, which is a 3-pin male JST-PH to 2-pin female JST-PH adapter cable for running brushed motors from the Lizard ESC. ? So my one complaint is this: if Furitek bundled that adapter with the ESC for brushed SCX24 users, this would be almost perfect out of the box. That would eliminate the only annoyance I had. Other than that, this ESC has been excellent. Now I just need to get rid of the stock ESC/receiver combo, add a separate receiver, and mount everything permanently. Pros: • Very easy setup • App paired automatically • Calibration process was simple • Extremely smooth throttle control • Highly tunable • Works great for slow crawling and torque-focused setups • Supports both brushed and brushless motors • Good included accessories Cons: • Brushed SCX24 users may need the separate adapter lead • I wish that adapter was included in the box Final verdict: I would absolutely recommend the Furitek Lizard Pro, especially to anyone building an SCX24. If you’re running brushed, just make sure to grab FTK-FUK-2043 and you’re set. It does exactly what people want an ESC like this to do, and it does it smoothly. Thank you Amain Hobbies!!!
