Installed this setup, 2 days later it caught fire while my son was playing with it.

RC MuddlerVerified owneron Furitek Redcat Ascent-18 Starter 2S Brushless ESC Combo

Great motor/ESC, good low speed control, good torque, good speed, drop in with Redcat Ascent 18 receiver and radio.

Jason HeckerVerified owneron Furitek Redcat Ascent-18 Starter 2S Brushless ESC Combo

Excellent price point. Easy install, plug and play with stock remote. Still a bit of cogging. I wish the instructions better explained how to set it up through the app. Its a great brushless system non the less

David HokansonVerified owneron Furitek Redcat Ascent-18 Starter 2S Brushless ESC Combo

Super easy to install. I like that you can use the stock Redcat radio. It binds in seconds. It runs extremely smooth. The app is easy to navigate as well.

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally praise this 2S brushless ESC and motor combo for easy installation, plug-and-play compatibility with the stock Redcat Ascent 18 radio and receiver, smooth running, and good low-speed control, torque and speed. Several note it offers good value for the price. One reviewer reported the system caught fire within two days of installation while in use, which is a serious safety concern and the only negative report. Another reviewer mentioned some cogging and found the app setup instructions unclear, though they still considered it a strong brushless system. Reviews are few, and the fire report conflicts sharply with the otherwise positive feedback.

  • + Easy installation

  • + Smooth running and good low-speed control
  • + Good value for price
  • − Reported fire within two days of installation
  • − Some cogging
  • − Unclear app setup instructions
