Powered by an Iguana pro. It is slow, not very powerful, noisy. Noisy going forward, a little quieter in reverse. Brass pinion had some thread lock between the gear teeth causing noise every revolution, had to scrape them off. I dont think this is 80T since its slow af. Carbon fiber motor plate is pretty nice. The HobbyPlus CR-18 (HBP240118) motor performs better than this.
4 stars because the price. And it's still going strong after almost a year. Running SD aluminum wheels with RC4WD Thornbirds tires in the C10. Full disclosure, I installed my motor with a flipped transfer case (motor forward). And I had to flatten and grind away some of the stock frame rail for it to run parallel to the input shaft on the transfer case. Also reversed motor leads. And made a longer front drive shaft and shorter rear drive shaft using stock spare parts. Climbs fantastic, yes, a bit noisy. And admittedly it was a pain to get it all set up properly. But it has outlasted the stock motor 50x.
Works great on three cell battery with the orioer esc. Lots of power not fast but fast enough for what I need. I really like it
Made my car way less powerful. Was running on stock everything n it still was chogging. Not sure if I need to get a new ecu for to work properly but doesn't mention it anywhere on the store page.
Reviewers are divided on this brushed motor and mount for the SCX24. Two reviewers rate it 1/5 and describe it as slow, underpowered and noisy, with one reporting thread-locker debris on the brass pinion that had to be scraped off. A 5/5 reviewer running a three-cell battery with an Orioer ESC found it powerful enough, though not fast. A 4/5 verified owner reports long-term durability after almost a year, strong climbing, and some noise, but notes a difficult installation that required frame modification and drive shaft changes. One reviewer praised the carbon fiber motor plate. One 1/5 reviewer questioned whether the 80T pinion was accurate. Another reported the motor felt less powerful than stock and suspected an ESC compatibility issue not mentioned on the listing.
