I am running this battery in a Futaba T4PM Plus transmitter for the purposes of RC racing (I take it seriously). If you need a solid battery for the 4PM, this is a good one. Things you need to know: It doesn't quite fit the battery compartment, it is too thin. I sandwiched a strip of soft velcro (loop side) to hold it in place, you could also use a battery foam or similar soft object. There may be a better way to do this, but I couldn't find it. The battery is LiFe chemistry, but it isn't labeled clearly. Be sure to mark or label the battery so you do not forget. The charge lasts significantly longer than AA batteries. I'd get maybe two weeks of regular use out of the radio with the AA pack. With this one, I've gone months between charges. The voltage fall off is very sudden. Meaning, when your battery starts to get low, charge it (don't wait for the low battery cutoff). This is one of the unique advantages of LiFe chemistry, and why it is ideal for use in a transmitter, but it takes some watching. To charge this, you will need a connector that will fit. Finding a suitable charge adapter was probably the hardest part of using this one. Futaba's slightly odd take on the dupont style connector means you will want to think through how to get it charged up. This battery was (and still is) the most cost effective option I've found for getting a LiFe battery in the T4PM. The fact that it appears to be higher quality than other options makes this a winner on this point alone. Tons of value here. If you need your Futaba radio to not let you down in a race, this battery will get the job done.

Fits futaba 10px. Works perfectly and last days in a single charge. Im Very happy with it.

So far, works great in my Futaba 3PV. It’s small for the battery compartment but doesn’t really move around inside. You’ll need an adapter cable whatever charge port you charger uses and a charger capable of charging LiFe.

What reviewers say

All three reviewers are verified owners who rate this LiFe transmitter battery 5/5 and report it works well in Futaba transmitters (T4PM Plus, 10PX, 3PV). Reviewers agree it lasts much longer than AA packs, with one estimating about two weeks of regular use and another saying days per charge. The recurring issue is fit: the battery is slightly thin or small for the compartment, so one reviewer added velcro or foam to keep it from moving. Reviewers also note the LiFe chemistry is not clearly labelled, so owners should mark the pack. Charging requires a LiFe-capable charger and an adapter cable for the JR connector. The sample is small.

  • + Lasts much longer than AA batteries
  • + Works well in Futaba transmitters
  • + Reliable performance reported
  • − Slightly too thin or small for battery compartment
  • − LiFe chemistry not clearly labelled
  • − Needs LiFe-capable charger and adapter cable
