I have a pair of these batteries for my Kraton 8s. I was looking for larger capacity, and Spectrum didn't offer this size. The batteries are hard-cased (I think the old gen is a semi-hard wrap?) and have good cables. The sizing of these packs is very long, it doesn't fit in the Outcast 8s, even at the longest pack setting, in the Kraton it fits no problem on the longest pack setting. I haven't experienced any issues and use a Gens Ace charger. It should be noted that with such a large battery, charge times will be longer; I try to keep my charger set to under 6amps per channel for battery health, but it's almost twice as long to charge. While I have tried to fit these in my X-Maxx, the battery tray doesn't close, and I guess it's expected, but just know if you intend to use them with Traxxas, you may need to modify the tray and plug as these packs are decently larger than normal.
So far so good. I got these for my 8s Kraton exb. They came with a decent storage charge so I charged them up and put them to use. I noticed that these batteries had a lot more felt power than my other 4s batteries. I also noticed that these batteries are 4s2p and not 4s1p, hence a little bit longer run time as well and the heftier price tag that goes along with 2p batteries.
Best type of battery a main is the best used almost 6 of them now
All three reviewers rate this 14.8V 11000mAh 4S pack 5/5 and report it performing well. Reviewers note strong felt power, good cables, and longer run time, which one attributes to the 4S2p configuration. Fit is a recurring point: one owner found the pack too long for an Outcast 8s even at its longest setting, while it fit a Kraton 8s. Charging takes noticeably longer at a 6A per-channel setting, roughly twice as long, which one owner flagged as a tradeoff of the larger capacity. The sample is small and includes one brief review, so confidence is limited.
- + Strong felt power
- + Good cables
- + Longer run time
- + Good storage charge on arrival
- − Long pack may not fit some chassis (Outcast 8s)
- − Longer charge times at 6A per channel
- − Higher price for 2p configuration
