Got a set of these for a Align 450 in 2009. Over the years 2 had to be replaced and I use Karbonite gears in them. Only one complaint, no bearing is supplied with the gears. They center well, 2 us dead zone and the only slop ever comes from the bearing after too many crashes. I do take consideration into about how much weight parts have and these are perfect for a 450.
Works amazing in my proboat sprint jet. Direct drop in with no mods and gives beyond enough torque for the brushless system I installed as well. I have always been a hitec fan and will continue to for my needs.
Not impressed. These servos don't handle a crash very well. The plastic top case will crack easily. The case is overall very cheap quality. Gears strip too, but not as bad as Align. Yesterday I was flying and landed fine. Changed my lipo and and powered it up and one of the servos fried to a black crisp. No reason for it as far as I could tell. The other two cyclics were completely fine. There was no crash involved at all and nothing shorted out electrically. For the money, I recommend the Savox which are a couple of dollars cheaper. Their case is aluminum and they take a pounding.
Reviewers give mixed ratings for the Hitec HS-5065MG micro digital metal gear servo. One long-term helicopter user rates it well, reporting good centering, a small dead zone, light weight for a 450-class heli and occasional replacement after years of use, though no bearing is supplied with the gears. A boat owner reports a direct drop-in fit with sufficient torque. A 2/5 reviewer reports a case that cracked after a crash, stripped gears, and one servo failing without an identified cause, and recommends a competitor instead. Only one review is critical, and the reviews cover different applications, so the overall picture is limited.

- + Lightweight for a 450-class helicopter
- + Drop-in fit with sufficient torque for a boat
