Just installed in my losi RTR SCTE. This thing is really fast and strong. It has great centering and rock solid position holding force. It blows the stock servo out of the water in all four areas. You may need to run an external BEC or direct wire the Red lead to the +7.4 of your battery. I had to. The SCTE stock ESC internal BEC that normally powers the reciever and servo was not able to handle the power this servo wanted, as I found when I didn't even have the horn connected to the sreering (no load) the servo stopped responding a second or two of rapid left-right controller steering. I expected to have ths issue, and planned on wiring it to get 7.4v instead of the ESC's internal BEC.

This servo has been working very well. I run it in my tenth scale models.

What reviewers say

All three reviewers are verified owners who rate the Hitec HS-5565MH high-voltage servo 5 out of 5 and report good performance. One reviewer, using it in a Losi SCTE, describes it as fast, strong, well-centred and firm in position holding, and says it outperformed the stock servo in those areas. The same reviewer reports that the SCTE's internal BEC could not supply enough power, causing the servo to stop responding under rapid steering with no load, and that an external BEC or direct 7.4V feed was needed. A Spanish-language reviewer using it for throttle/brake on an MBX6R reports sufficient speed and torque to stop the car and says it runs well on a 2S LiPo without a regulator. A third reviewer reports it works well in a 1/10 scale model with no further detail. Power supply is the only recurring…

  • + Fast response
  • + Strong torque
  • + Good centering
  • + Firm position holding
  • − Insufficient power from stock SCTE BEC
  • − Stops responding without external BEC or direct 7.4V feed
