Could be a great charger but will not charge 1s packs or any battery less than 5v. Won't charge a glow igniter, the most basic of battery types. Plus this is only AC, this little guy could almost be a great charger but lacks some big points.
Right out of the box, BRAND NEW, fails to COMPLETE a balance-charge on a 2S LiPo receiver pack. Gives me some weird error that reads: "CONNECT ERROR CHECK MAIN PORT." All connections are fine and proper. The charger will, in fact, charge the battery just fine until the battery level reaches 99%. At that point, one of the cell voltages will spike thereby stopping the charge cycle, beeping, and reporting the error. Called Hitec a few weeks ago to report the error. They said to send it in so they could look at it. To be honest, at $40, it's not worth the hassle to be without a charger for weeks or months; who knows how long it will take for a warranty claim!?! Sorry, I cannot recommend this product. The QC sticker on the bottom of the charger means nothing!
Love this charger, my main charger. Never had a problem with it. All my batteries are 2s and balances, discharges and charges perfectly.
For a really basic charger it has worked great for me. The only reason I deducted a star is because it is a cheaper option. I’ve had mine for years with zero issues
Bought this on recommendation from my local Drift track owners/drivers. Since I don't feel the need for the larger, more expensive 2 battery charger of the same brand they strongly recommended, I felt this would be a better deal. Batteries charge quite fast even for not being on the fast-charge mode, and the information displayed is quite handy for someone who's still not well-versed in this hobby. Probably will hold onto this until I can justify the bigger charger in the future and will pass it on to the next person who wants to get into this hobby.
