About this part

This is the Hobbywing EZRun MAX10 G2 140 Amp Sensored Brushless Waterproof ESC/3665SD Motor Combo. Using IP67 waterproofing and featuring a smart sensored brushless system this versatile combo is an excellent choice for 1/10th 4X4 Trucks and Monster Trucks.

Features:

  • The EzRun Max10 G2 ESC features an improved waterproof sensored cable interface and an upgraded sensored mode to achieve a great sense of control feel and perfectly matches the EzRun 3665 SD G3 motors.
  • Supports Turbo timing adjustment of up to 32 degrees, and in combination with the EzRun 3665 G3, the maximum speed is 25% more with greater effect.
  • The smart start-stop technology is introduced to the Max10 G2 ESC. The frameless fan will not be enabled to reduced noise and saving power. The fan will only work when the temperature rises to a certain level.
  • Compared with the previous generation of the MAX10 ESC, the total capacitance of the capacitor is increased by 74% and is overheating protected. The functions improve the power delivery from the battery to the ESC to avoid it from overloading and causing capacitors to explode.
  • Smart freewheeling technology enables the MAX10 G2 to have higher drive efficiency than the previous generation, resulting in lower operating temperatures and a minimum temperature of approximately 25°C lower than the previous generation.
  • After connecting the ESC with the OTA Wireless module, you can view the data (throttle amount, voltage, current, temperature, speed and etc) in real time through the mobile app to know the running status; The history of the running status can also be viewed by data logging.

Rob Robertson Hobbywing EZRun MAX10 G2 140 Amp Sensored Brushless Waterproof ESC/3665SD

I've purchased 3 of these in the past few months. While I obviously can't speak to long term reliability I can say these are VERY high quality components and they are super easy to install and maintain. I have a few castle products as well. And comparing them I think the Hobbywing are every bit as good as Castle but generally cheaper. And the one thing that has made me switch, is the switch. I really like the HW power switch compared to the cheapo feeling Castle one. I know, I can change that, and it's not a big deal blah blah blah. But when you consider price, reviews, features and a slightly more quality feel, I think HW beats out Castle products.

I put this system in my son's Arrma Typhon to replace the stock BLX system after it finally gave out. This system ROCKS. It is my new go-to setup for bashers. Crazy power + superb control with the sensored setup. Will be hard to use anything else now.

Very smooth and powerful combo. If you gear it up right you won’t have issues with overheating. Note the esc fan only turns on when it reaches a certain temperature. Would recommend

Exactly what I expected. I installed it in the Tekno SCT410 2.0 for around the yard running and not for competition track racing,(the 2400kv) is not acceptable for track racing on 4s. I plan on going to a 4000kv and 2s for the track. Over all the quality of the product is nice and very easy to install. I'm definitely a Hobbywing combo fan.

What reviewers say

Reviewers broadly praise the Hobbywing EZRun MAX10 G2 140A ESC and 3665SD 2400kV sensored motor combo for strong low-end power, smooth throttle control, and easy installation, with several using it in 1/10 bashers and short-course trucks. Some note it runs cool, and one owner reports reaching 65 mph on a Senton. Points of disagreement include gearing and voltage: one reviewer found 2nd gear excessive but 1st adequate, while another said 2400kV was unsuitable for track racing on 4S and planned a higher kV for that use. One owner on 3S broke axles and a differential in a Slash 2WD, advising drivetrain upgrades. A recurring issue is a sensor wire that broke at the connector after a few days of use. Another reviewer noted that programming requires a separate program card. Overall ratings are uniformly high, though the sample is small.

  • + Strong low-end power
  • + Smooth, precise control
  • + Easy installation
  • + Runs cool
  • − Sensor wire broke at connector
  • − Programming requires separate program card
  • − Too much torque for stock drivetrain on 3S
  • − 2400kV unsuitable for track racing on 4S
