About this part

This is the Hobbywing EZRun MAX10 G2 80 Amp Sensored Brushless Waterproof ESC/3652SD Motor Combo. Using IP64 waterproofing and featuring a smart sensored brushless system this versatile combo is an excellent choice for 1/10th Buggy, On-road, Light-weight SCT, Trucks and Monster Trucks.

Features:

  • The EzRun Max10 G2 ESC features an improved waterproof sensored cable interface and an upgraded sensored mode to achieve a great sense of control feel and perfectly matches the EzRun 3652 SD G3 motors.
  • Supports Turbo timing adjustment of up to 32 degrees, and in combination with the EzRun 3652 G3, the maximum speed is 25% more with greater effect.
  • The smart start-stop technology is introduced to the Max10 G2 ESC. The frameless fan will not be enabled to reduced noise and saving power. The fan will only work when the temperature rises to a certain level.
  • Compared with the previous generation of the MAX10 ESC, the total capacitance of the capacitor is increased by 74% and is overheating protected. The functions improve the power delivery from the battery to the ESC to avoid it from overloading and causing capacitors to explode.
  • Smart freewheeling technology enables the MAX10 G2 to have higher drive efficiency than the previous generation, resulting in lower operating temperatures and a minimum temperature of approximately 25°C lower than the previous generation.
  • After connecting the ESC with the OTA Wireless module, you can view the data (throttle amount, voltage, current, temperature, speed and etc) in real time through the mobile app to know the running status; The history of the running status can also be viewed by data logging.

I finally installed the Hobbywing MAX10 G2 Combo in my basher, and I am fairly certain I have accidentally built a low-orbit rocket. My buggy never had acceleration having bought it used with high turn brushed system; now it has a teleportation trigger. The Speed 4100kV motor has, is so fast it makes my dog look like he’s running in slow motion. I pulled the trigger to half-throttle, and my truck did a backflip so perfect it could have won an Olympic gold medal. I’m pretty sure I saw it break the sound barrier in my driveway. My neighbor’s cat hasn’t been seen since Tuesday—I think the sheer wind force of my car passing by blew him into the next ZIP code. The Sensored Smoothness, accoriding to Hobbywing means it is marketed as "no longer sounds like a bag of rocks in a blender" when you go slow. It’s so smooth it feels like the motor is whispering sweet nothings to the tires. I can crawl over a pebble with the grace of a ballerina, then instantly hit the throttle and turn my tires into pizza cutters. It’s the Jekyll and Hyde of RC electronics. The "Smart" Features It has a "Smart Fan." Apparently, the fan is smarter than I am because it only turns on when it’s actually hot, whereas I just sweat the moment I see a flight of stairs. It’s also waterproof, which is great because I spent half my afternoon driving through a puddle just because I could. The buggy came out soaked, but the ESC just blinked at me like, "Is that all you got, sparky?" If you want your RC car to have the personality of a caffeinated squirrel and the power of a small sun, buy this. Just make sure you have a lot of space and maybe a helmet for anyone standing nearby. My tires are currently screaming for mercy, and if it had a wheelie bar it would have been ground down to a nub, kind of like a dog scooting on a carpet. 10/10 — Would accidentally flip into a tree again, sorry 5 out 5...

I installed this on an original classic RC10T2. The install was easy and brought this dinosaur back to life. My 5 year old and I have had tons of fun so far. Upgrading to a brushless kit has been a great experience. I strongly recommend this EZRun.

Great combo for a 1:10 scale. I put it on an old RC10GT2. Def get the program box to tune it.

I put this in a LC Racing PTG2-R and it is amazing. Had to thicken the rear diff fluid to hold the power. After sorting the rear diff for the amount of slide I wanted, I was able to fine tune the punch and throttle timing to polish the rally slide feel with the OTA programmer. I already have an OTA programmer, so this wasn't an issue for me, but I am taking off a star because XC esc's come with Bluetooth already imbedded internally and would have been my go to had I not already had an OTA programmer (and I got this combo on sale).

What reviewers say

Most of the 14 reviewers, all listed as verified owners of the same 4100kV combo, rate it 5/5 and report strong acceleration, improved smoothness and top speed over stock systems, and easy installation in a range of 1/10 scale cars including classic and touring models. One reviewer ran it for about an hour without overheating. Reviewers say the OTA programmer is useful but expensive, and one noted that the ABC wires are short. One reviewer reported the ESC failing within 30 seconds on a 3S LiPo at light load, a single report that is not explained further. Several reviews focus on the seller or are not specific about the product, and one review is a humorous, non-technical account.

  • + Strong power and acceleration
  • + Smooth low-end control
  • + Easy installation
  • + Runs cool under extended use
  • − One report of ESC failure at light load
  • − OTA programmer is costly for some buyers
  • − ABC wires are short
  • − No built-in Bluetooth, unlike some competitors
