The G3 program box gives you the ease of programming that comes with the bluetooth ota with the physical screen & buttons of the G2 box. Plug it in, power up the car, and you're ready to go (after linking app w/ device). The app makes updating firmware of both the ESC and programmer box a breeze. The price makes it affordable whether you have one or ten ESCs.

Bought this little handy LCD programmer. It's the cat's meow. I use it to change the settings on my HW ESC Max 10 G2 , and it works flawlessly. I also like that it has BT capabilities, so you can pair with the APP and update the firmware seamlessly. 0 buyers remorse, a great addition to the toolbag, AND a nifty battery checker as well.

Dead simple and tough so you can just throw it in the pit toolbox and grab it whenever you need it. I have the OTA programmer, but I recommend this as well. It's reasonably priced and works perfectly.

This unit is incredibly handy. Nice and easy to plug in and you can access all your esc settings quickly. The LCD display is nice and bright, the functions and utility are very intuitive. No more struggling with small set buttons and counting blinking lights. Out on the track it takes seconds to make useful esc/motor adjustments.

What reviewers say

Ten of eleven reviewers rate this Hobbywing G3 program box 5/5 and describe it as easy to use, compact and reliable for adjusting ESC settings and updating firmware via Bluetooth and the Hobbywing app. Reviewers highlight the bright LCD, intuitive controls, built-in battery checker and affordable price. One verified 1/5 review reports that a firmware update prompt never completed and the return window had passed. Reviewers also note limited backward compatibility with older ESCs, which one owner called a shortcoming. The sample is small and largely positive, so the single negative experience carries notable weight.

  • + Easy to use and intuitive
  • + Bright LCD display
  • + Bluetooth app firmware updates
  • + Compact and durable for pit use
  • − Limited backward compatibility with older ESCs
  • − One report of failed firmware update
  • − Return window missed in one case
