Great System. I am running it in a slash 2wd and it has been a blast. The gearing that I am using is 32 pitch 16tooth pinion and 54 tooth spur, while using it with a spectrum 30 c 5000mah 3s. The vehicle will do wheelies on demand at maximum punch; however I am running larger tires - Badlands 2.8. I am easily getting over 50+ /- mph but the motor has been running rather warm. Operating temperatures are between 120 to 160 Fahrenheit in 88 degree weather. I would recommend running a 13 tooth pinion instead so the motor will run cooler and have more torque off the line. Also installing a wheelie bar is highly recommended. Cons: the motor cogs at low speeds. I do not know what Hobbywing did but the motor is crazy loud when you turn its shaft. Its sounds like bad gear mesh. Nevertheless, for an $90.00 combo it is beyond my expectations in terms of power output. I would recommend this over the castle creations sidewinder 4 combo just because I felt like the 3652 castle motors run hotter in the slash to achieve a similar power band. However, if you like esc's that run buttery smooth and cold like the sidewinder 4; I will not argue with you, expect for the fact that Hobbywing is IP-67 grade waterproof and does not have a dinky power switch.
Exelente motor tiene la potencia suficiente para mi tekno sct410 2.0
Huge Upgrade! Put this setup in a Arrma Vortex 550 Mega to replace the brushed system which got wet and died. On a Spektrum 5000mAh 50C 3S battery this thing does over 50 mph! Motor has 5 mm shaft. I put a 17T 32P pinion gear and a 61T metal spur gear (Amazon). Also put 40 mm rocket fan over the motor. I used Arrma Mesh-safe plates to set the pinion gear. Oh you also need a 2 ch receiver. I put tires off a Granite on the back and put the back tires on the front. It’s a BLAST now!! John
I only use hobbywing motor and esc because of the quality. I've only had good experiences with them and priced right for my builds. Amain always do a great job at keeping customers coming back.
All four reviewers give the Hobbywing QuicRun 10BL120 G2 ESC and 3660SL motor combo five stars and describe it as powerful and well suited to their vehicles, including a slash 2WD, a Tekno SCT410 2.0 and an Arrma Vortex 550 Mega. Two reviewers report top speeds above 50 mph on 3S packs. The main recurring issue is motor heat: one owner with a 16T pinion and 54T spur, running larger tires, measured 120–160°F in 88°F weather and recommended a smaller pinion. That owner also reported cogging at low speeds. One reviewer used a rocket fan to help cooling. Reviews are few and mostly from owners of the same variant, so the picture is limited.
- + Strong power and high top speed
- + Good quality and reliability
- + Suitable for several 2WD platforms
- − Motor runs warm with large gearing and tires
- − Cogging at low speeds
