Wow ! Blown away by the power of the 8bl150 combo, I’m running it in my Maxx on stock gears east to install and set up I will definitely be getting another one for my other maxx. I left all the stock settings as well and the punch is crazy when u pull full throttle.. it will do a backflip.. I’ve got 26 years in rc this combo is 5 STAR RATING. Go buy one or 2 you will be extremely satisfied!

Converted my nitro buggy with this kit and so far so good. Running a 20t pinion on 4s lipo and the thing rips! Extremely easy setup as well. I don't know how well it would compete on the track but it's more than enough for bashing.

This is by far the best basher system on the market at a fair price! Runs almost as smooth as my fully sensored combos in my race vehicles! My only complaints are make sure to get the program box to adjust this, and it has to be the lastest one from Hobbywing or the wireless, since the factory settings have it set to throttle to instant reverse for some strange reason that will ruin a your gears, instead of throttle to brake to reverse like it should be. Also they have it set to 3.0v cutoff for battery which will hurt lipos, so it needs set to 3.4v per cell.

The system is great. Using this in a Tekno mt410 pro. Amazing throttle control. The customer service of Amain Hobbies is the best.

What reviewers say

Reviewers almost uniformly rate this Hobbywing QuicRun 8BL150 G2 combo 5/5 (one 4/5). Common praise centres on strong power and punch, smooth throttle control, and good value, with installations reported in Maxx, Tekno MT410 Pro, Talion XL, Team Corally Sketer, Typhon 665 Mega and converted nitro buggies and Hotbodies chassis. Several note the setup is easy, and one reports two years of bashing without issues. One reviewer warns that factory defaults set throttle to instant reverse and a 3.0V per-cell low-voltage cutoff, recommending a programming box to change them to throttle-to-brake-then-reverse and 3.4V per cell for LiPo use. Another mentions the unit is a tight fit in some vehicles. Reviews mostly describe bashing rather than racing; one reviewer doubts its track competitiveness. A few reviews focus on the seller's service and shipping rather than the product.

  • + Strong power and punch
  • + Smooth, precise throttle control
  • + Good value for the price
  • + Easy installation and setup
  • − Factory defaults need reprogramming (instant reverse, 3.0V cutoff)
  • − Tight fit in some vehicles
  • − Programming box needed for adjustments
