Hobbywing QuicRun Fusion SE FOC 2-in-1 Crawler Brushless ESC & Motor System (1800Kv) (540 Spec)
About this part
Features:
- The integrated design of the ESC and the motor greatly reduces the overall volume and weight, and makes the layout and wiring of car frame simpler and more convenient.
- The FOC driving mode provides excellent low speed torque and smooth running at extreme low speed, which makes this superior to the common sensored brushless power systems.
- Thanks to the sine wave driving mode, the whole system has high efficiency, low heat, and effectively extends the runtime. Additionally the motor runs more quietly and smoother.
- IP67 waterproofing gives this system excellent waterproof and dustproof performance. Under various weather conditions, the whole system can easily deal with environments containing silt, ice, snow, and water.
- Intelligent torque output and speed closed-loop control, experience the cruise control and steep slope slow descent function.
- Active drag brake force adjustment, providing super strong parking capacity on slope.
- Multiple protection functions: battery low voltage protection, overheat protection, throttle lost protection, lock-up protection.
- Supports LED program box to set ESC parameters (sold separately).

Purchased locally. Installed in a TRX4 Defender with stock pinion. Top speed is about the same as stock setup. What has changed is the power and low speed control. Even at a barely moving rpm this motor will likely snap parts before it stops. It has unbelievable amounts of power. Low speed is so slow, you have to really be watching because it looks like it’s sitting still. Very fascinating but useful in situations where you might be on the verge of tipping. This is the first brushless crawler motor I’ve ever used. My go to setup has always been a Hobbywing 1080 and a Holmes motor. This motor uses the same program card as the 1080, just use the item/value chart on the paperwork with the fusion for setup instead of the item/value list on the actual programmer. I’m very satisfied with this motor. I’ve only ran once with it so far but if it lasts as long as all my other Hobbywing stuff, I’ll be happy. For the price, it’s an incredible value.
The Hobbywing QuicRun Fusion SE 1800KV is a great value. It has good low speed control. FOC allows you to keep the throttle at a set position and the ESC will adjust the power needed to go over obstacles without any change to throttle input. It is easy to configure using a HobbyWing program card. The motor is also very quiet.
Allways ran brushed 35t motors with the hobbywing 1080 esc in my trail trucks an crawlers, not any more !, this brushless combo is awsome very easy to setup with program card, went up one tooth on the pinion, installed in my redcat ascent, WOW, love it totally different truck, got the speed an can crawl, best of both worlds, going to buy another fusion for another crawler project, the price can not be beat.
This is the best bang for your buck upgrade you can make to a brushed, 1/10 scale crawler. Just remember to purchase a Hobbywing programming card with it. It is easy to install, the first time setup is simple, and reprogramming it later on is no problem.
Mine was defective upon opening but amain support is helping me with that excellent customer service. Hobbywing on the other hand are horrible to deal with and offer a pay to replace warranty terrible on a brand new motor!
Reviewers broadly praise the Fusion SE FOC 2-in-1 crawler system for strong low-speed control, smooth throttle response from Field Oriented Control, easy installation and programming with the Hobbywing program card, and a compact integrated design that reduces wiring. Several describe it as strong value compared with brushed setups and the Pro version. Reviews are mostly 5/5, with a few 4/5 ratings. Recurring criticism involves units arriving defective or failing early, with the warranty experience described as mixed: one reviewer reports a replacement was sold at full price after a plug change, while another reports a free replacement from the seller. One reviewer notes running hot and another reports a snapped shaft, and a note warns of shallow mounting holes that may need short screws or shims. Some reviewers mention the Pro version has more tuning options.

- + Easy installation and programming
- + Compact 2-in-1 design with less wiring
- − Some units defective or failed early
