Mark Brownon Hobbywing Xerun 4268SD G3 1/8 Scale Sensored Brushless Motor (2200kV)

I do not own this motor because AMain does not carry any replacement parts for it (as far as I can tell). For instance, the replacement rotor for this motor is part number HW30093. This part is not available on AMain and is currently out of stock at HOBBYWING North America. 1/8th offroad motors get hard use and require maintenance, and for that you need parts! HOBBYWING does not even seem to offer other parts you might need such as bearings or sensor board. I guess you are meant to replace the entire motor if anything goes wrong. Tekin offers replacement parts for their 1/8 motors, and AMain carries many of them.

So far I've been running this motor in my Typhon TLR and Tekno EB48 2.2 with the XR8 G2S Plus ESCs. No issues so far that I've had. Runs around 38000rpm on 4s and I've even ran 6S on these with no problems but typically these are 4s Rigs. Build quality great and easy to keep tenps down with 40mm mounted fan. No problem hauling 8-10lb Ebuggys around and typically depending on gearing these usually top out around 50mph. As others have stated the replacement parts for these are difficult to find and im not sure why Hobbywing would make Pro level motors but no replacement parts except greed? So far I've been happy with all 3 of my Hobbywing systems.

Sorry but I didn’t put the motor in the buggy yet

What reviewers say

Reviewers report mixed experiences with this 2200kV sensored 1/8 scale motor. One reviewer who has run it in two 1/8 buggies with XR8 G2S Plus ESCs reports no problems on 4S, occasional 6S use, good build quality, and easy temperature control with a 40mm fan. Another reviewer, who does not own the motor, criticises the scarcity of replacement parts, citing an out-of-stock rotor and no listed bearings or sensor board. A third review is from an owner who has not yet installed the motor and offers no assessment. Reviews are few, so the overall picture is limited.

  • + Good build quality
  • + Easy to keep temperatures down with a 40mm fan
  • + Runs reliably on 4S in 1/8 buggies
  • − Replacement parts are difficult to find
  • − Replacement rotor listed as out of stock
  • − Limited availability of bearings and sensor board
